Even though the thing about cake was kind of cheesy, I love that they have a set way of approaching the music on this album.  I was so pumped for ADTOE I was a bit worried that there was nothing they could do with the new album to get me as pumped.  I was wrong.  I cannot wait for this.

This video has the title of "Episode 1" - looking forward to the rest.  Maybe this is just like the drummer auditions, they release episodes on the internet during the run up to the release and then include all of them on a bonus DVD with the new album.

With this first episode, I felt like the fun was back with DT that to me felt absent with the ADTOE cycle. The chocolate cake bit was a prime example of JP letting loose. Contrast that to the articulate, and careful nature of the band with ADTOE.

I'll be a plus one on this. For me that was a sign that this album will be monumentally great, just seeing the fun the band had and how they just seemed to be letting loose. I think this will be the defining album of this generation of DT.

JP's comments here about the album are almost word for word what he said about 8vm on the Score documentary. This album better be better than that one, even tho I rank it high on my DT list, most do not.

Octavarium is my favourite Dream Theater album so i'd be down with an album like that.

A kind of mixed grill of Dream Theater.

The shorter - poppier songs, the long Epic, The longer heavier ones and the short ballady one.
