Trains? What's trains?

They're these magical things that take you to Hogwarts!

Sadly we only have the non-magical variety here in the northeast. :\

Don't forget that they also take you to the North Pole...  ;)

I've only ridden on a train once in my life which was when I was a kid and we were in Arizona visiting the Grand Canyon. Train rides now make me of Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory  :lol

Wow, I take the train every day to get into the city! I live 30 minutes from Philadelphia by train, but an hour by car, so I use public transportation. I guess depending on where you live they might not be as common?

Don't mind me, my mind is just hurting trying to imagine that. :lol

Public Transportation barely exists in the Southeast (I'm located in Chattanooga, TN). I have traveled quite a bit so I've definitely flown and "sailed" enough to make up for my lack of train-riding. Oh! I took a train to Tuscany from Florence when I was in Italy 5 years ago. Sadly, there were no Counts to take me for a ride when I got there...  :neverusethis:

Public transportation around here is meh. Apparently Washington D.C. has the best subway system in the country, a lot of people say. Philadelphia has a north-south line and an east-west line, but there's a ton of places that the subway doesn't go to. There's also trolleys and buses but it's a clusterfuck during rush hour. :|

Public transport to the houses of either of my parents is laughable. A bus comes past my mother's house... once or twice a day, otherwise it's every half an hour stopping at a stop thirty minutes walk away, and for my father's house it's train once every half hour, stopping in the nearest town, which is about three or four miles away.

Not good for drawing faeries.

I recently (ie. the last two days) restarted an old project I mused about with a friend of mine about two years back. Basically, we're writing a comic (or he's writing it, I'm drawing it), and it's about some dude who gets prophetic visions and faeries, as in the medieval/traditional type (as well as nymphs, naiads and other things of fay/other ilk) rather than the modern depiction of fairies.

Naturally, I'm completely obsessed with drawing faeries as a result at the moment.

:rollin I think he means to say that when traveling using public transport, you can spend your time drawing faeries. Since the public transport is shit, he has to travel using car/bike/whatever, meaning that he can't draw faeries.

OH OH OH. Wow, that seems so obvious now. I use the train to work on character sketches for my assignments, so I really should have made that connection.

I may also be reading A Midsummer Night's Dream to get a feel for how his ideas about Puck should be.

Okay, but can someone stop the guy in my brain singing "I believe we're along for the ride"? Seriously, I wouldn't mind if he started singing a different track occasionally.

Good luck with that Onno.

My coworker is tapping his foot. And it's loud because he's tapping it against one of those plastic mats they put under office chairs. And I'm just... about to lose my mind.
