Playing Oracle of Ages right now.
About to enter the 3rd dungeon. It's on the island where all the lizard guys steal your shit.

Seasons be better, but these were quite good for the GBC.

Fix'd.

Also I love those games

They were OK.
Playing them again, I'm not all that blown away. They're better than Link's Awakening (my least fav), but only marginally. At least you get Moosh or Ricky :)
I dunno, they're OK, just not great. I know SI raves about them, but he also has never made it past the Water Temple in Ocarina, and therefore doesn't even like it. So I don't trust his opinion of LoZ games much.

Ok, seriously, let the Water Temple thing go. So I screwed up the key thing. There was no way I was going to start over. and, i've finished a lot of the other games.

As for Seasons, it was my first Zelda, so I have a personal attachment to it.

Also, if you hate a game that has this in it, you fail:

Except if you can't complete a dungeon in THE QUINTESSENTIAL ZELDA GAME, how can I take your opinion seriously?
Yeah, you finished a few more, but at least finish Ocarina dude.
And you could have restarted the dungeon. You were too lazy to do it.
And that was like 4 years ago, and you've made no attempt since. SHAME

And Moosh is cool, but he's actually the useless one. Ricky can jump up cliffs, and the Dodongo guy can swim. Moosh can only hover over multiple gaps (which Link can surpass anyway if you have Roc's Feather and the Magic Boots).

Seasons is your favourite Zelda game?

I never said that. It's just closest to my heart.

It probably goes Ocarina (what I was able to finish), TP, Seasons, Minish Cap, Majora;s Mask. The rest are an indistinct haze that I haven't played for a long time.

I guess I should get one that...

Damnit. If I knew where my cartridge was, and hadn't lost my controllers, I'd lend you my N64 to play it :P

Might head out to the Second Last Game Store to do just that...

That would be awesome. I've been looking forward to finally meeting you.

Plus, I'd get my hands on some legit console Zelda.  :P

Edit: Dammit setra, now I feel a compulsion to play oracle of ages.

From another website:

Majora's Mask is about Link coping with the death of Navi.

Each major area in the game represents one of the 5 stages of grief:

Clocktown=Denial
No one wants to admit that the moon will crush them, they just want to have their carnival

Woodfall=Anger
The Deku are furious at the monkey for "kidnapping" their princess. They completely ignore the fact that he has nothing to do with their swamp being poisoned.

Snowhead=Bargaining
If only the Goron's legendary hero would return, everything would be alright again.

Great Bay=Depression
With the lead singer's voice gone, the rest of the Zora mope about, seeing no point in anything.

Ikana=Acceptance
Filled with the dead, Link must bring peace and calm the lingering spirits there.

Some text from the Happy Mask Salesman:

"Whenever there is a meeting, a
parting is sure to follow.
However, that parting need not
last forever...
Whether a parting be forever or
merely for a short time...
That is up to you."

What was Link's mission at the beginning of the game? To find an old friend, right? What does Tatl say to Link after all is said and done, yet there is no Navi in sight?

"Well, both of us have gotten what
we were after..."

Link fighting that mysterious dude from the GDC trailer.  I think we may finally have come upon a villain that will not be some lame underling to Ganondorf.

Concerning the OP, I do believe that apart from the OoT, the Oracle games are by far the best Zelda games I've ever played.

OoT is the classic;
WindWaker was phenomenal (if a bit heavy on sailing)
the DS ones are meh
Majora's Mask is great (but I hate the 3 day cycle)
The Minish Cap was fun, but too easy
A Link to the Past was kinda hard, but I liked it, because it was a long game (although I never did beat Ganon)
and I'm currently playing through TTP (I'm at the Lakebed temple) and it's good, but a tad easy

Anyways, I'll finish TTP soon, and then probably revisit my file in OoT (I'm in the Shadow Temple) then finally force myself through Majora's Mask

Zelda is by far my favorite series, and the biggest reason I play video games at all.  I really dig just about everything I see on Skyward Sword (the game that is the reason I haven't sold my Wii yet), but I HATE this new villain Ghirahim.  I would probably rather have Tingle be the antagonist.  I know people complain about Ganondorf coming back all the time and undermining the newer villains, but at least he is intimidating.

Really?  The only positive about having him in the game is being able to beat the living tar out of him.  I'd hate to see a great game fail to come together because of a lame villain.

And such is another fan-created theory about that game to make it seem deeper than it really is.   :P

*longass post*

To that first bit, I respect your opinion, but personally I'm very interested in what they can do with this guy.  Sure he may seem a bit wimpy from what we know, but honestly we don't know that much to begin with.  I'm actually kinda intrigued as well by the fact that this new villain isn't the typical strongman General Onox, Ganondorf, and Zant were.  This guy seems to be more the clever, manipulative type, and I want to see where Nintendo will go with that.

For the second bit, again you're probably right, but we here at DTF should know better than anyone: overanalyzing makes everything more fun. :laugh:

In which Zelda games is Ganondorf not the primary antagonist?

Off the top of my head:

Zelda II: Adventure of Link
Link's Awakening
Majora's Mask

That's all I got.

I won't withhold my purchase just yet, but I immensely dislike the character.  And I know you're supposed to dislike villains, but that should be because they just burned down my hometown, not because they just stuck their tongue in my ear.
