Twilight Princess is still my favourite. No shitty three day time limit and no going back and fourth between times. Just you, Link AND A MOTHERFUCKING WOLF.

I've never actually played Twilight Princess. I was just showing how the original post could be interchangeable.

I'll admit. The Zora was awesome. Projectile fins and a fish bone guitar. Hells yeah. Not to mention the electric charge.

This article was posted on my Zelda forum January 7th:

https://www.zeldauniverse.net/zelda-news/zelda-wii-to-be-released-this-year/#more-9397

Quote
Holy Wiimotes, Batman! Is Zelda Wii going to be released this year? Nintendo President Satoru Iwata claims that this is indeed the case. In an interview with Japan’s Asashi Shimbun Daily, he said “You are now less than 365 days away from a new console Zelda game.”

If this is the case, then we’re in for a good year with not only Zelda, but other major releases such as Mario Galaxy 2 and the mysterious Metroid: Other M. So get going to the forums and express your excitement and joy! And later your anger as Nintendo decides to delay the game for months.

The Zelda team have been giving hints about the content of the game for a couple of months now, and have confirmed that they will reveal a lot more about the game at E3 2010. Zelda Director Eiji Aonuma had this to say back in November 2009: “So far, the basic flow of the Zelda games is you’re exploring a field, you go to a dungeon, you conquer it and return to the field. We’re looking at altering that traditional flow. That’s all I can share, and I can’t say more until E3 next year.”

Aonuma has also stated that the last big console Zelda game, Twilight Princess, didn’t fully complete Nintendo’s objective of creating the most realistic and immersive Zelda experience ever, and says that Zelda Wii will take what they’ve built in Twilight Princess and adapt it for a more realistic playing experience.

Discuss.

I mean what I'm really pleased with is the fact we're finally gonna see something at E3 this year.

Also, rumor has it the game's been in development since the year before Twilight Princess was released.

Well, that might be the reason Twilight Princess was delayed then :P

I'll be glad to see some stuff at E3 though. Excellent!

I should probably beat Twilight Princess before I get this next one though, hmm? :D

Actually if it was started a year before Twilight Princess was released, that would put it at 2005.  I really hope so; that's the second-longest development time for a Zelda game, longest being OoT.

Is that the sky temple? That one was a bastard. Possibly the hardest part of the game for me - I kept getting lost. By comparison I beat Ganondorf on my first try!

Playing through Spirit Tracks now. I've reached the boss in the Sand Temple, now I'm just dilly-dallying - finishing up the sidequests, getting force gems and rabbits and treasures and so-on. Trying to unlock all the train cars, 'cause I don't know how long I'll be able to roam the place for! First time though y'see.

Very good news about new Zelda! I'm looking forward to it. It sounds like it's gonna be a bit revolutionary - although I'm guessing it'll be a little longer before it's released in the UK. I'm guessing this is for Wii?

Being an Xbox gamer this makes me  :sadpanda:
I'm a big Zelda fan, so I'm making up for it by playing Minish Cap.

Yeah, but after I played Twilight Princess......

It's like drinking a fine wine. You can't drink anything but the best after.

Oh well, maybe I'll sneak into your house and steal your Wii.

Got a Nintendo DS lite for Christmas and i'm a huge harry potter fan. The games i received were HP6, Rubik's world, and a surprise- ZELDA: PHANTOM HOURGLASS.

Everyone has been teasing me b/c i haven't touched the harry potter game yet but have been playing Zelda since Christmas day.

This is my first Zelda game and I do plan on finding more, however How many are there for the DS?? Anyone know?

The only other one that I know of for the DS is Spirit Tracks.  I haven't paid much attention to handheld Zelda since the Oracle series.

Yeah, Spirit Tracks. Better than Phantom Hourglass imo, and I really liked PH!

The other one of that "style" is Windwaker, which is for the Gamecube, but if you have a Wii then the Gamecube disc will work in it. Twilight Princess is the other recent one, and both are excellent. The others are a bit more retro and have aged a bit - Game Boy, Nintendo 64 etc., but also very good.

Hey, the 64 ones have aged extremely well. Haven't really played the handheld ones though.

I'm still a die-hard-fan of Ocarina of Time. That was my first one, and it's still my favorite.   :tup

I liked MM (although the whole going-back-in-time-over-and-over-again thing got old) and WW too, and the Phantom Hourglass was kinda neat (although I'm not a total fan of the cartoon-ish look). Although TP was also a favorite of mine (most people got really annoyed with Midna, but I thought she was a heck of a lot better than Navi.....Wanted to get her in a bottle and fling her off the mountain...)  I thought the wolf concept was cool, kinda different. And yeah, hated those last couple temples, usually the Water Temple is the most confusing for me, lol.

I still go back and play Ocarina of Time every year.
I still consider it the greatest game of all time. It's aged so perfectly. Every dungeon is clever and unique.
Not to say the other Zelda games' dungeons aren't cool. But you can tell that Ocarina became the template for all future dungeons.

IMO, the only two zeldas that have aged are the original and the second one. All the rest seem to have held their own over time.

I've never had a handheld system, and only recently played Minish Cap on my PC. I thought it was ok, it looked, played, and sounded like a Zelda game, but didn't really feel like a Zelda game. Maybe I wasn't paying attention to the story, but most of the time I didn't even know what I was doing or why I was doing it. I was just completing A to get to B, and so on.

I think I might have the other games on my PC, I'll have to check.
