Classic Rock Vocal Showdown #14: Anderson vs Hayward
« on: May 27, 2013, 06:31:25 AM »
While I knew Gabriel would win last round, I'm surprised there was such little love for Greg Lake.  Well, maybe this faceoff between the other two founding fathers of prog rock will be closer.  Neither Jethro Tull or The Moody Blues get a lot of discussion around here, but they are a couple of legends of 60s and 70s rock, and the engineers of the progressive genre... moreso than Yes or Genesis in my opinion.  Both have a deep studio library, and are (from what I've heard) are beastly acts live.

While I prefer JT as a band, I'm gonna give the nod to Hayward here.  He may have not held all the vocal duties, but he was the key voice behind MB's, and I'll take him.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

While I don't care too much about TMB besides that one awesome album,I actually really like Hayward's vocals. But It's freaking Ian Anderson! Come on! When I saw him last year,he was surprisingly a beast!

Hard choice. Went with Anderson, but I love Hayward too.

Both are great, but I am a much bigger fan of the Moodies, so Hayward gets the nod from me.

Love both, but I've been a Jethro Tull fan longer.  Plus, Ian had such a unique voice so... Ian it is.
