Probably a good thing I got called into work, otherwise I would have had to spend the day on some random porn site adding new friction burns to the ole guy.

Reading comments like this makes me feel better about myself. Did anyone else pester whoever it is who operates the DTF twitter account all day? I did. I just needed something DTF.

Had to reload it twice.
That solves the problem for me, too. Occasionally a page won't load but a single refresh is enough to get in.

Soooo can somebody explain the DNS yadda yadda stuff? I have 0 understanding what that means. I can access here at home, but at work I was hosed.

DNS = Domain Name Service

Every computer, phone, tablet, server, etc, that is connected to the internet has a unique numeric address that allows it to communicate with other devices that are also connected.  That unique number is called an I.P. address.  (I.P. = Internet Protocol) I.P. is actually short for TCP/IP with is an acronym for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol.  It's a communication "language" for devices connected to the Internet.

Domain Name Service (DNS) provides a massive database that translates those IP Addresses into friendly names such as dreamtheaterforums.org.  It makes remembering how to look at something on the internet easier than having to remember its IP address.  To recall 50.97.68.155 (for example) would be more difficult than remembering Dreamtheaterforums.org.

It was down for me the past two days. I tried different DNS servers (my university, two local ISPs and OpenDNS), none of them were able to resolve the domain. :sad:

You know, I've encountered no problems with getting on to the site.
Perhaps you should ask bosk to reverse the "e" and "a" in the second half of your user name.

It's a bit complicated, and there are a lot of variables involved.

Well that was unpleasant!

I missed most of the down time yesterday, since my own internet was down until about 7.30pm. When I got back online, this place is down too. I checked "downforeveryoneorjustme" and it confirmed the site was down, so it wasn't just a problem at my end, plus I saw a message on the twitter page.

But I couldn't find any other info about the problem, so finally earlier today I checked on my phone and the site was fine. So I tried the DNS flush on my PC and rebooted my router...one it had rebooted though, my whole net was down again for 4 hours  :censored Finally it's back and so is DTF  :tup
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww
