I haven't seen the video version, but I heard the audio and it was GREAT! I almost wish this show could have replaced LaB, as great as that show was, because the performance and setlist were top-notch.

James wasn't in top shape then, you know. :D

As for the LaB replacement, I think 3.04.2004 in NYC would have made a better DVD than both Budokan and Toronto ;)

Also, you should thank Weymolith. He wasn't the one who taped it, but if you are watching and enjoying that bootleg it's primarily because of his doing. So, thank you wey  :tup

Actually I think July 3rd 2004 in Rome would have made a great DVD. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/dream-theater/2004/foro-italico-tennis-stadium-rome-italy-63d6d2f3.html

Just a part of it. The guy overlooked the special features. Plus, the quality is just crappy there  :tdwn

I know the extras contain the soundcheck, what do they play?

The soundcheck, yes, but for the following show. ITNOG featured, plus videos from the actual performance in Firenze, including the full performance of ACOS.

I don't have the NYC '04 DVD but I have Fan Club CD '04 and that's good enough for me. Just listened to it this morning actually. I have the In the Name of the Godfather Version 2.0 and it's pretty good too. Though some of the song intros are cut off. I tossed the so-called "bonus disc" because aside from a paparazzi- style sound check shoot ,  it mostly appeared to have pictures of a fan and his friends. Still , you gotta thank all the fans for continuing to document this band.

Wait, doesn't your version have ACOS and Afterlife and parts of CIAW in the bonus disc?

If we're talking about the Rome show from July '04 , mine's a 2 disc set. It's a copy on DVD+R that I got from a fan. If I remember correctly the bonus disc was a 3rd disc , which I threw away for the a fore-mentioned reasons.  It may have been copied different from the version you have. I have all of the concert footage from that night. It's a great boot. I love watching it.
