Clive DID have a much drier wit though, but yeah - Drew Carey was the weakest link in the first US version.
Yes, but the regular members clearly had a great relationship with him, which made the whole thing work.

And to be fair....I thought his TV show was pretty funny while it was on and that chemistry he had with his cast mates was clear. I don't remember how many seasons it lasted...but it was funny. I just didn't think he was 'host' material for 'Who's Line is It?'....he didn't do it for me on that show.

Bahaha, they've still got it. Can't say Ryan and Collin have aged well, though. That's gonna take some getting used to.

It felt forcedm but it is because they are doing it to promote 90210.
But the J-Pop song was amazing  :rollin
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

Yeah, the years haven not been kind to Colin.  I always did think the musical skits were the weakest.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

Tony on the British version was hilarious.

LOVED Tony Slattery! :heart   Josie Lawrence and Mike McShane were really good too.

Yeah, and add in Greg Proops and it was about as good as it gets.

I think Drew was a good host whenever he wasn't participating in the skits. As someone mentioned earlier, it was awesome to see him be the butt of the jokes.
They'd give it to Clive Anderson much worse than what Drew Cary got, and Clive was pretty good about occasionally getting them back.

Interesting trivia about the UK version. Clive Anderson had a 15 year law career before starting up with WLIIA. Richard Vranch has a PhD in physics from Cambridge. Both of them are Footlights alumni and successful improv comics in their own right. Vranch's resume suggests he could have held his own with the other guys, had he not been more useful as the musical director. Probably explains why his timing with Lawrence and McShane was always so impeccable.

Extended trivia: at the same time Anderson was in Footlights, Douglas Adams, Simon Jones and Mark Wing-Davey were all in the group, presumably getting acquainted.

Bart, WTF? Who needs a computer with you around? :lol
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Except for the Hoedown, Hoedown rules!

Years haven't been kind to Colin, yes, but Ryan doesn't look much different! And they brought back Laura Hall and Linda Taylor? Nice!

It's mostly the unfortunate haircut that emphasizes his grey hair I think.

Colin, Ryan, and Wayne being back make this actually worth it. Drew Carey is meh, so I'm hopeful about this new host.

The British Whose Line SLAYS the US version.  As to the new announcement:

Funny that Clive Anderson used to be a barrister. I can't imagine him cross examining in court without dropping a joke.

... Also - DAMN Colin Mochrie looks old.  :omg:

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I have this recorded, will probably watch it later tonight. Is it any good? I'm worried that it's so bad that they should never have bothered with it. I guess I still have that bad taste in my mouth from that Drew Carey Improv Show...

It has Ryan, Colin and Wayne playing Scenes from a Hat, that is all you literally need to know.

It's like the good old days. Nothing like that horrible Improvaganza.

Yep I watched them, and I agree Zook. I am actually surprised just how much it feels like the old show. If not for the age difference you wouldn't even know that there was such a long time between this season and the last.

I really don't like the new host though. She doesn't have the back and forth and the rapport that Carey did, and Clive was always good for a laugh. She might ease into it in future episodes but right now I'm not a fan. But that's pretty much my only gripe, this is looking good and hopefully gets to continue for a few years.
