Hopefully it's better than that Drew Carey Improv show, which was quite worthless IMO. Also while I know the british version never had Drew as host, I think the new show suffer a little from not having him present. I don't even know who this Aisha Taylor is.

She plays Lana in Archer. I reckon she could be a good fit. To be perfectly frank I would watch this just for Colin and Ryan though.

I loved the original show with the British host. Couldn't stand he Drew Carey version. I'll probably initially watch this one to see how it goes.

The problem with the American/Carey version was that he was a terrible host, and killed the vibe.  I think the sketches were mostly ok - some hit-and-miss, but not terrible.  The original British edition was so much better.

The last segment when Drew Carey would hop out there and try to be funny.....that was painful to watch. I don't think he ever made me laugh, not even once.

I loved this show. Still do. I hope CW doesn't neuter it like ABC did. Also, I usually find female comedians to be very unfunny. I hope she isn't one of them.

Also, also, I thought Drew was a good host. He wasn't the funniest, but it was hilarious when he was the butt of the jokes, which was all the time.

Also also also, I thought the british version was boring.

Clive Anderson was great. Never cared for Drew Cary.

The other issue with the US version was that they didn't rotate through the cast members enough. To their credit, their four guys were all excellent, but there really are plenty to choose from. The UK version had a core group of 6 that they'd rotate around, adding in others as well.

Colin, Ryan, and Wayne being back make this actually worth it. Drew Carey is meh, so I'm hopeful about this new host.

My body is ready.
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

Yes, and plus 1 to all the other Drew dissent. Main problem with him is he didn't understand how to react with doling out the points. Yes the points didn't matter, but when Clive gave them out, he acted like they did and sold the dry, I guess British humour/sarcasm? Drew laughed when he did it, ruining the joke completely... Every-single-time.

I also agree with others on him joining the skits. It was unhost like. I guess the hosts do on SNL, but they don't moderate anything. It's like if Alex Trebek started playing Final Jeopardy each show.

I think Drew was a good host whenever he wasn't participating in the skits. As someone mentioned earlier, it was awesome to see him be the butt of the jokes.

Yeah, and add in Greg Proops and it was about as good as it gets.

They'd give it to Clive Anderson much worse than what Drew Cary got, and Clive was pretty good about occasionally getting them back.

Interesting trivia about the UK version. Clive Anderson had a 15 year law career before starting up with WLIIA. Richard Vranch has a PhD in physics from Cambridge. Both of them are Footlights alumni and successful improv comics in their own right. Vranch's resume suggests he could have held his own with the other guys, had he not been more useful as the musical director. Probably explains why his timing with Lawrence and McShane was always so impeccable.

Extended trivia: at the same time Anderson was in Footlights, Douglas Adams, Simon Jones and Mark Wing-Davey were all in the group, presumably getting acquainted.

I don't think it was bad...those guys are funny....but to me Carey was by far the weakest 'player' or member on that show. He just doesn't seem as witty as the others...

Clive DID have a much drier wit though, but yeah - Drew Carey was the weakest link in the first US version.

Yes, but the regular members clearly had a great relationship with him, which made the whole thing work.
