knowing your tastes, it would probably be better if you picked Judgment or Alternative 4 as your first Anathema album.

Well, there are neither of them. Currently there are Weather Systems, Hindsight and A Fine Day to Exit.

Weather Systems is the best starting point out of those 3, but if you end up liking Anathema so much that you want to buy some albums, then you should listen to Milena's advice - Alt 4 and Judgement are their peak IMO, and it's very much possible that you'd enjoy them too.

I agree with both ? and Milena. Weather Systems>We're Here Because We're Here>Alt 4>Judgement>A Fine Day To Exit is that way that I took so far. A Natural Disaster is the next step for me.

The drummer of The Deadstation is also their vocalist, you bet he's in good physical condition

And does he both vocals and drums when playing live? If so, that really is impressing. At the first gigis of my band, I played drums and sang when we played Enter Sandman and Master of Puppets, but both are really easy songs on drums.

I'm truly honoured Ruba.....

There are three rounds left, you have still a plenty of time to screw everything up  ;)  :xbones.

So far I've only gotten 4 out of 8 subs, but there's still some time until deadline.

They haven't played live yet, and I think they would look for another drummer to play the parts live should that day come (I faintly remember discussing that with either Shjon or Ryan), since I think it's physically impossible to do those demanding vocal parts alongside drums.

Also my song is coming shortlyyyyy, as in a few hours give or take :lol

RESULTS ROUND 6

? - Paradise Lost - Hallowed Land
Quite heavy and catchy track with good vocals. In some parts it sounded a bit Awake-esque to me. Great guitar solo.
9,3

Scorpion - Wintersun - Winter Madness
A familiar song, a 15-year old me was impressed about how fast one can play drums. Now the insane speed feels almost comical. Vocals are alright, nothing to complain about them. The best part of the song is the guitar solo, which Alexi Laiho could only dream of. It almost gives me goosebumps.
8,5

Nekov - Ayreon - Through the Wormhole
Well this one's quite different, it's even a bit jazzy. I don't really like the keyboards, they're ultra-cheesy and a bit out of place. I'm not a big fan of the chorus either. But there were a plenty of good melodies and as with Wintersun, an awesome solo section is worthy of some extra points.
7,9

obscure - Fair to Midland - Kyla Cries Cologne
The shortest song of the round. Some heavy guitar riffing, but the song isn't really heavy (energetic anyway). Vocalist has quite unique voice, I like him. However, the pre-chorus didn't really sound good to me, and it reminicents Get a Life by Queensr˙che a lot. Luckily it's rather short and it is followed by a very good chorus. Nice bridge.
8,7

MoraWintersoul - Leprous - Bilateral
Should I move to Norway, they seem to have much better rock/metal bands than we do  :lol. This song has the best chorus of the round, and it is pretty catchy overall. I like the vocalist, and there's an awesome bridgey-thing at 3:03.
9,2

Lolzeez - Opeth - Bleak
The longest song of the round (Nem sends always the shortest ones and Lolz longest  :lol... no need to change unless you want to). I own Blackwater Park and this was one of the few songs I liked instantly. This is more athmospherical than heavy song, and there are lots of acoustic guitar, which is a plus. I don't really like the growls, but don't hate them either. Great chorus with clean vocals by Steven Wilson. The acoustic middle section is beautiful, and the clean guitar solo is lovely. Are the clean vocals there Mikael's?
9,2

WindMaster - Coheed & Cambria - Key Entity Extraction III: Vic the Butcher
I love some modern alternative rock, and this made no difference. Quite catchy. I like the vocalist (how many times I've said that already :lol). Nice guitar solo.
8,9

lonestar - Martin Orford - Power and Speed
Well this song lives up to its name  :lol. A prog rock instrumental with some more keyboard- and some guitar-based sections. A rather uplifting piece, where cool melodies are followed by another cool melodies. I especially loved the guitar lead at 0:54.
9,4

And this time lonestar took the cake, let's take a peek at the standings.

Standings:
obscure 54,8
lonestar 54,4
? 54,3
WindMaster 54
MoraWintersoul 53,9
Nekov 52,9
Lolzeez 52,4
Scorpion 51,9

The vocals in the chorus go like this:

SW: "Devious movements in your eyes"
MÅ: "Moved me from relief"
etc., the rest of the song (including the "You're close to the final word" part) is 100% Mikael. However, the clean guitar solo is played by Steven.

ROUND 7 RESULTS

obscure - Korn (ft. Skrillex and Kill the Noise) - Narcissistic Cannibal
I've heard some Korn before, and I haven't liked it. And I think I have heard this song on radio earlier, and I didn't really like it. But it was probably back when I didn't like electronic music. Main riff is very powerful and it's probably my favourite part in the song. I find the song to be a bit of a safe bet, however, this could have been more abrasive. It's good but not really groundbreaking.
8,4

MoraWintersoul - VVVVVV Soundtrack - Pushing Onwards
Actually this emoticon would be enough of write-up: . Is this 8-bit? Good melodies. This reminds bit of music used in online racing game called Need for Madness. Simple, but great.
9,3

? - Chroma Key - Get Back in the Car
Slow and athmospherical song, great percussion. Some interesting samples. Catchy chorus.
9

Nekov - David Bowie - Dead Man Walking
Based on rather fast and powerful beat, I think this is even more energetic than the Ayreon one you send me last round. Instrumentation is quite interesting, I'm pretty sure this will can endure many listens. Nice piano work.
9,2

lonestar - Nebulist - Obscure
You have a collection of songs with the word "obscure" in the title, don't you?  :lol A dark piece, very bass-heavy. Interesting rhythms (everything is now interesting  :P :lol). Keyboards bring some calmness over the chaotic beats. I haven't heard anything quite like this before, and I must say I like this.
9,2

Lolzeez - Daft Punk (ft. Giorgio Moroder) - Giorgio By Moroder
Before hearing this song I didn't know who Giorgio Moroder was. Now I know. The song has vintage-feel in it. For most of the time there's one bass line, everything else is build on it. The synth melody beginning at 1:50 is damn catchy. The parts with acoustic drums are cool aswell. The video you originally sent missed the cool outro, but I found it from another video, and it's worth of extra 0,1 points.
8,9

Scorpion - Diablo Swing Orchestra - Justice for Saint Mary
OK, you originally sent a song from an artist, which was already used (Portishead). So I should give you -2 points, but you were fast and resended before I even had seen your first sub. And minus points would definately mean a last place for you. Aaw, what the heck. I don't even think my scoring system works that well. I was too strict in the first round, that Agalloch song would have been probably gotten higher score on some other round.

OK, I quit ranting to myself.

At first I thought you had send wrong song or something, because the electronic elements kick in not earlier than after seven and half minutes.  :lol Before it this is mainly acoustic, acoustic guitar and symphonic instruments. Melody-wise probably the best song on the round. Strings give some real depth to the sound. This is like newer Nightwish as an acoustic version (and male singer), but better. The build-up from 5:50 on... yum. Then it becomes heavy metal and turns into glitchy electronica. Weird.
9,5

WindMaster - The Dear Hunter - Never Forgive Never Forget
And I was waiting for some electro-post dubprog... But this isn't bad either, electronica-laden alt-rock. I somewhat like it, but I don't know... this one just doesn't really strike me.
7,8

Standings:
lonestar 63,6
? 63,3
obscure 63,2
MoraWintersoul 63,2
Nekov 62,1
WindMaster 61,8
Scorpion 61,4
Lolzeez 61,3

And we have a new leader! Hmmm... probably the winner will be RJ, Ville, Nem or Milena, because my scoring system rarely makes big margins possible... sorry guys . But there's still one round left, do your best!

ROUND 8 - We have assumed control
Time for a big finish! Send me a grande finale-song. Like when I asked you to send an opening track in the round one. But it doesn't have to be a album closer, just something you find as a good final for the roulette.

I'll be dead honest, I had never heard of Nebulist or that song before I sent it. Just went on a madcap search for electronic music, really liked that piece, and the name of the song didn't hurt either. Can always use a little positive mojo.

Grand finale, huh? This fucker is in the bag now....
