Computer Problem Thread
« on: April 20, 2013, 03:28:36 PM »
I need help fellas, if you could spare a few minutes :)
Little background: My laptop's internal hard drive gave out and I took it to a computer place to install a new hard disk for me as I've never opened and closed any machine without causing permanent damage to it. That was a 100$ btw. They wanted another 100 to install Windows but I wouldn't have been able to look myself in the mirror if I paid that much for windows installation.
So I installed Windows and everything is fine now. I still have my old hard drive with a lot of data on it that I need, I bought an external hard drive cover to turn into a USB device and Windows reads it fine but I can't access my pictures and videos folders cause I don't have admin rights to them anymore, they were in my old user account from the old windows, I'm trying to find a way to access them but it's really a long problem to google, any tips appreciated.
I wouldn't want somebody with 18 kids to mow my damn lawn, based on a longstanding bias I have against crazy fucks.

That's why I never dick with access privileges. But then I don't have a wife to hide my porn from.  :lol

Looks like plenty of people ran into your problem doing the exact same thing. If you search "gain admin rights old drive," "take ownership of old drive," or some variation thereof, you'll get some results. This looked like it was the right track, although since I don't have Windows 7 I have no way of testing it.

Barto's right. This is what we had to do when we pulled the HDD out of my buddy's old computer to transplant the info into his new one
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
