Because this is actually more convenient. When it's windy, an umbrella won't really keep you dry. This has the convenience of still folding down into a single unit that you can carry, but provides full protection. She's just wearing her business attire and is fully enclosed, protected from the wind and rain. Does it look stupid? Maybe. But she's dry.

One more thing to clean, and I'm sure it will get pretty disgusting until you do.

Easier to just have a seat. Middle of the night, I'm half asleep anyway and don't feel like standing there, I'm not turning the lights on because it'll wake me up and I'm going right back to bed in a minute, so fuck "manliness", I sit down. No muss, no fuss.

3. Blinding, then after your eyes adjust you can't see shit on the way back to bed.
4. That was never the issue. Eyes do not function in total darkness (see also Riddick)

While I could see a far-fetched value for motorcycles, it is completely over the top for a bicycle. Keep in mind that they will sell it for $199 a pop. So, you'd have $400 worth of equipment to tell you something a squeeze to the tire will tell you.
