Not sure if this is accurate because it differs from other reports I've read but New York Post states 12 dead, 50 injured, suspect ID'd and being guarded in hospital

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

So I heard a report where some talking head expert something or other commented that if the explosives were made with hydrogen peroxide then it was Al Queda, if not then probably someone else. What? Al Queda only make bombs with H2O2? I'm confused. Wonder how or why that makes a difference. Perhaps it's cheap and easy and thats how they're trained?

This is a post from my friends FB page.  Her two sons ran the marathon and they were there.  Reading this brought a tear to my eyes and how proud as parents my friends must be.

"just when I thought I couldn't be any more proud of my sons, (Name) had to tell me how he helped a runner at the finish line today just after the explosion. In all that craziness, he saw a woman on the curb crying, having just completed the marathon, frantically trying to call her husband and kids. He took her phone and called her husband to let him know she was safe. All we know is her name is Emily and her husbands name is Gaetano...pray for Emily and Gaetano and that they were reunited safely."

Drawing a definite link between them would be stupid. I do know that they spent a lot of time working with it as part of their airplane bombing endeavors, though. I believe that's why carry-on items are limited to 1oz containers. Still, a homegrown terrorist would probably find that much easier to work with than procuring ANFO after the whole McVeigh thing.

Apparently the duds weren't bombs after all. They detonated them as a precautionary measure, but they weren't bombs. Neither was the JFK fire related.

I really can’t stand how news reels are bombarding this story with 24/7 coverage. There’s got to be a point when you no longer covering the news, and instead just exploiting it for ratings. Our local keeps showing the explosion going off over and over again, regardless of whether there’s actually anything new to report.
