Montana pet owner to feds: The dog ate my money

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A Montana man whose 12-year-old golden retriever ate five $100 bills hopes to be reimbursed by the federal government.

Wayne Klinkel tells the Independent Record (https://bit.ly/143rwRZ ) that his dog Sundance ate the bills while he and his wife were on a road trip to visit their daughter.

Klinkel says he carefully picked through the dog's droppings, and his daughter recovered more when snow melted.

He says he washed the remnants of the bills and taped them together and sent them to the Treasury Department's Bureau of Engraving and Printing with an explanation of what happened.

The bureau's website says an "experienced mutilated currency examiner" will determine if at least 51 percent of a bill is present and eligible for reimbursement. The process can take up to two years.

Good luck, buddy.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Lol. I saw a vet show on TV where someone took their dog in and they force fed the dog an emetic. The dog threw up the money, they washed it and dried it.

I feel bad for the person who has to examine the shitty money.

I sure did.  I didn't say it was a billion US dollars.  I just said "a billion".  He's a very hungry dog!

When life gives you lemons, scrub the feces off of them and send them to the US government.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

Straight from the article:

Quote
“Sundance is notorious for eating anything and everything, so right away I knew what happened,” Klinkel said.

If you KNOW that beforehand, why the hell would you leave your dog in the car with the money?
Really, why would you leave a dog in a car anyway? That's cruel.

If you name your dog Sundance you deserve to have bad things happen to you.

Yeah, Butch or Cassidy are way better names than Sundance.

A friend's golden lab ate my wallet once. We were otherwise occupied, and when we returned the floor was covered with bits of leather and my chewed up driver's license. Fortunately, all I had was a fiver which turned up in the back yard a day later (probably still there, as she understandably didn't think retrieving it was worth five bucks). I got a new wallet out of it and the chewed up DL was an awesome conversation starter whenever I had to present it. The indentations also kept it from being swipable, so it made it a PITA for Johnny to write me tickets.  :lol
Argument, the presentation of reasonable views, never makes headway against conviction, and conviction takes no part in argument because it knows.
