We are making the drive to Disney on Friday. It's going to be an Iron Maiden ride. But I need some help.
Here's my request:
Make me an Iron Maiden playlist!

Some rules:
1. Everyone's playlist should be no more than 60-65 minutes.
2. Once a song is used, it cannot be used again. So if Hallowed is on the first playlist submitted, don't put it on yours.
3. I'm an old guy and I still think of albums as Side 1/ Side 2. Please take into account album flow and transitions.
4. Give your playlist a title.
5. Do not mix Live and Studio. If you want to make a live playlist, remember that if someone uses Fear Of The Dark from DOTR, there can be no other live versions of it used.
It is OK if a studio version is used in a studio playlist, and a live version is used in a live playlist. Does that make sense?
6. It's ok to use b sides. Just remember that if it's a live B side, it should go on a live playlist.
7. Other than the live albums, you can also cull your live choices from the following soundboard shows: London 12-10-90, Gothenberg 7-3-05, and Stockholm 11-18-06.

Winners will be announced when I return from vacation.

Thank you very much.
Now let's have at it!

As an old fogey, I'd love to see the younger generation make a list to see their taste TAC.

I recall.  You gotta let me know next time!  *shakes fist*

Given rule #2:

1.  This sucks for people who come late to the party when a lot of the good songs are already taken, and gives an unfair advantage to those who see the thread early in terms of it being a "contest."
2.  If enough people participate, you are eventually going to just get every Iron Maiden song, which kinda defeats the purpose, don't you think?

Care to reconsider that rule?

TAC

Well, the winner comment was more tongue in cheek.

I am going to program each playlist on my iPod, and I don't want to hear repeats.
There's plenty to choose from still. Ideally I would love to have every song represented.

Besides, you'll always be a winner in my book! :D

If you didn't want to blow monkey balls, you should've left the monkeys at home! ;D

Also Bosk, I was thinking while Scorp was doing his Maiden Top 25, that I would make a playlist out of his and Dream Teams, but then I was thinking that I didn't want the repeats. I could listen to their discography, but I was really looking to randomize the lists. So I figured I would call on my friends at DTF to help.

Cool.  Hope you like it.  I'm actually going to try to listen to it now myself.  I may change the order a bit if it seems like the flow would be better with a different song order, but I wanted to post it before someone else took the songs.

EDIT:  You know, I'm pretty happy with this track order, actually.  I like this list a lot despite having to make a few changes because of other people picking songs I was going to pick initially.

wolfking

'Can I play with Mickey'

1. Different World
2. Can I Play With Madness
3. Wildest Dreams
4. Deja Vu
5. Futereal

8. The Alchemist
9. Gates of Tomorrow
10. Ghost of the Navigator
11. Man on the Edge
12. Purgatory

'Can I play with Mickey'

Nice.  I think you and I might be in the lead for the "best title" award.

wolfking

Yeah, I liked yours and that's why I thought I'd come up with something similar.  The tracklist was hard since most of the classics have been scooped up already.

bosk1

Yeah, and I took a bunch myself.  Sorry.  Put in Quest For Fire.

But seriously, if you really want one, I'll give up Flight Of Icarus since I'm heavy on PoM tracks already, and I was thinking about subbing it out for Wrathchild.

wolfking

Nah, all good mate.  I went for a more upbeat vibe so my songs mostly fit.  Didn't realise Wrathchild hadn't been taken.

Thanks Wolf!

Anytime brotha!!

EDIT:  Looking back at my setlist, I don't mind it.  It's underrated, slightly obscure but quite consistent.  Quite happy with my efforts there.

WebRaider

So jealous of the trip (I'm a Disney fanatic)... trying my best for a trip after Christmas this year. Hope you all have an awesome time!

But I'm so listening to these playlists.  ;D

Well that's what I was going for. It's easy to list their greatest songs, but I was looking to mix it up.
On our trip down in February, I simply listed to their discog in order. I still have a hankering for some Maiden, so I just wanted a fresh order.
