The 'Say Something Nice' Thread
« on: February 04, 2013, 11:32:51 PM »
Okay, this is a pretty straight-forward thread. You simply have to think of something nice to say about a band, artist, album or song (or anything else music-related) that you dislike. It can either be serious, half-serious, facetious, sarcastic, or it can be a complete backhand compliment. Also, whoever wants to post a particular topic (e.g. Geoff Tate, the Grammys, "You Not Me") for other users to say something nice about, feel free to do so.

The guys in Protest the Hero know how to play their instruments.

Mike Patton is alive.

Bono is cocksure of himself, which is a prerequisite when you're in the the greatest rock band in the world.

Nicki Minaj has managed to divert attention from her ass to her considerable vocal talent while still wielding her ass whenever necessary.

Over the course of her career, Madonna has deftly created enough controversy to sustain her popularity.  Lady Gaga is pursuing that playbook very well, but with more an emphasis on fun.

I think Coldplay got screwed by Joe Satriani

U2 are impressive for having the same lineup for their entire career

Justin Beiber gets me pussy than I do

One Direction have more hair than I do

Devo have really cool hats

Kiss apply makeup better than most females

Chumbawamba are cool for getting back up after drinking a lot of piss

Garbage aren't as bad as their name implies

Twisted Sister are great for standing up for themselves

Rod Stewart is the ultimate milf hunter, especially milfs named Maggie

George Michael does well for himself because he has faith

Aerosmith are pretty switched on and don't miss much

Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

AC/DC has found a sound that both they and the fans are happy with, and have stayed true to it all these years. Why fix something if it ain't broken.

Bruce Springsteen has a lot of money.
There is a funny "shreds" video of AC/DC that gave me one of the biggest laughs I've ever had.

OP has an awesome name.
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Also, Toby Keith does know how to tell a story in a comic way.
Perhaps you should ask bosk to reverse the "e" and "a" in the second half of your user name.

Nu-metal deserves credit for pulling heavy metal out of the dark ages of the post-grunge era. Slipknot kicks more ass than a lot of people give them credit for.
The bones of beasts and the bones of kings become dust in the wake of the hymn.
Mighty kingdoms rise, but they all will fall, no more than a breath on the wind.

King Crimson is too unfair to any other band band because it does everything better.

Disturbed's ability to re-create albums is just uncanny; such replication skills are unparalleled.

If reversed, Muse's discography shows are really consistent, steady improvement in the overall quality of the music from album-to-album.

Slipknot generally keep their songs pretty short.

"Blood on the Dancefloor, Black Veil Brides, and Bring Me the Horizon are among my favourite acts in rock and metal" - anon.

I commend Animals as Leaders' ability to create such sterile music with such proficiency.

I guess 'Number of the Beast' could always be a little more overrated than it is.

Geoff Tate getting kicked out was the best thing to ever happen to Queensryche.

The current metal scene isn't overrun with symphonic copycat bands at all...

OP has an awesome name.

In the context of the thread, I'm not sure what to make of this comment...

Incorrect, but I agree the name is good.

Anyway, Nickelback once did a cool live cover of The Four Horsemen.

You think about a band/artist/album/song that you don't like, and say something nice about them/it. Find some redeeming qualities.

Emmure know how to make break-downs.

I like Nickelback better than rap.

Lady Gaga likes Iron Maiden which is always a plus.  :tup

Oh, I get the idea behind the thread.  I was being facetious by insinuating not knowing how to say something nice.    ;)

I wish REM a long happy successful retirement. Comebacks can be dangerous, for their own personal safety I hope they don't attempt one.
Take care everyone - Bet you all didn't even notice I was gone.

Happy Lives to you all.
