I love the awesome packaging.

This. I also don't have any need for the CD's and the blu-ray so I'm going to choose the DVD version.

Blu Ray runs 300 mins. Main show IIRC is about 180, I'd wager the bonus songs to be about half hour so that leaves 90 mins of bonus features. Not as jam packed as I was hoping.

and yet it is still jam packed.

See, for me it's exactly the opposite (from those who "don't have any need for the CDs"). I'll watch a concert DVD maybe once a month but I listen to live albums all the time. I guess it's that I don't have the downtime to properly watch a lot of live DVDs but I can play a live album while doing other things. That being said, I might buy the deluxe edition because I would like to have a DVD for the occasions when I do have time to watch. It's really a matter of how much it costs. But I'm definitely at least buying a CD edition.

wasteland

I'm really loving the packaging and I'm totally getting the Deluxe edition for this one, my first DT live release as a fan!

I don't get the moons on the 6 discs. 3 of them look the same to me ???

The last two look like they should further the darkening of the moon to a New Moon phase, but it wasn't completed. Whoops.

Also, here's the track lists straightened out so they're not all in one huge block of text.

I'm glad they decided to include the non-main-show tracks on a bonus disc, which, by the looks of it, runs about 35 minutes long. Disc one runs about 70-72 minutes long, while Disc two is around 74-75. Not bad!

I may have to cut-and-paste the bonus tracks into the main show for a LONG listening experience for my iPod, with the 2nd night songs in order where the 1st night songs were.

I may also cut the songs from ADTOE and make a ADTOE-Live album since all 9 songs were played live for the tour, and between both nights! I just want to hear the live run of FFH/BAI/BTS!!!

-Marc.

cramx3

So the bonus tracks are from the 2 night event and not from a different venue?

It's beautiful, innit? I'm doing the same. And £33-ish seems incredibly reasonable for six discs, so I'm even tempted to pre-order it to protect me in case the price surges up. I never pre-order stuff! Would do it right now except the internet keeps going funky.

Jinx

I preordered the Deluxe one too. And hey, you dont need to pay until the release so you can save up for it! No brainer for me!

Kotowboy

Standard DVD for me.

All 9 songs from Dramatic Turn are featured so will deffo be making an ADTOE live album.

theanalogkid7

I'm guessing this isn't available for preorder in US yet, correct?

I agree with this, but the problem is that it seems there is no CD edition. And 41,99€ for the deluxe edition is a bit much for me (I think it's a good price, but I'm not sure if I can or want to afford it). Dunno what to do :-\

?

I could consider buying the deluxe edition if it was cheaper, but I have a lot of other releases to buy and my money situation will change at the beginning of September when I start living on my own.

aprilethereal

Money's pretty tight for me at the moment, and I won't have a "real" income until October next year, so I have to really think whether I'll buy the deluxe thing or not. Why can't they just release a CD-only version?

The Curious Orange

+1 for a CD only version.

I think I've only watched CiM once, and I really wish the CDs were in my CD rack rather than on my DVD shelf...

BlobVanDam

I'm personally only interested in a DVD version (I never listen to Budokan or Score on CD, and I've never even taken the CiM CDs out of the case), but I also think it's a good idea to release a CD only version for those that want to be able to just listen to them. Is it because CD sales for live albums are low enough that it's not worth it?

adastra

That Deluxe edition looks awesome! Nice coverart and simple packaging!
I feared that it would that Pizza box sized thing.

Most likely yes. I've also noticed that sometimes bands do release CD versions of their live albums, but they don't include all the songs, probably because that way the fans have to buy the DVD versions to get the full shows.

puppyonacid

Probably a daft question

But for those that want cds but don't want the extra outlay, is there no merit in ripping the audio?

I'm pretty sure you're not infringing on any copyright laws by doing this since it would only be for private use.

The Curious Orange

Yeah, but I like to have physical CDs sitting in my CD rack.

cramx3

Is there going to be a digital release for the songs? I don't care for CDs but id like the Blu ray and to have the MP3s as well.

Kotowboy

I hope they put the show on Spotify as the audio like their other live albums. Then at least I can listen to it when i dont wanna put on the DVD

Jinx

Wikipedia is stating that the live album will be available on iTunes so I imagine other places will have it for download  :tup

Perpetual Change

I've been pretty busy so I haven't been checking in, but it looks like there's been no real news since the single. Hmmm...

Jinx

Lets dig this up again.

I'm so happy they're finally starting to drip feed information about this glorious release. Its as if its become a reality again, and although the back cover is kinda weird (see DTs Instagram), it is enough to get me excited once again for Live at Luna Park. All I want now is another trailer with audio!!  :tup  :metal

goo-goo

I'll be ripping the live versions of ADTOE and give that album another chance. The live versions kicked major ass

TheAtliator

TheAtliator

Disc one- 229 min approx
disc two- 68 min approx

If the show is around 3hrs (180 min), that leaves like 117 minutes (almost two hours!!) of bonus!  :o Holy crap that's amazing!

I looked at that too and thought the first disc was the main show and the second disc was the additional songs from the second night plus the bonus features.  By my calculations it only is about 30 minutes.

Jinx

I would say Disc 1 would be Main plus Bonus songs from Night 2 and maybe the Cartoon Intro too. Disc 2 will be the extras like the docu, etc.

By the way, does this mean theyve cut the whole Intro off? I mean I know they couldnt use the Inception theme but damn... It was such a good buildup into the desert scene for Bridges, it seems a shame  :-[

I think they said they'd be swapping out the music for the intro. As they're including the intro separately too, I doubt it would just be muted, so I'm sure they've sorted something out.

wasteland

Indeed I remember we didn't reach a consensus on what song they might have chosen for the intro.
