Actually, yes. Record labels and Film companies publish upcoming release schedules for retailers. These dates aren't set in stone, and are subject to change, but they do let retailers know what releases are coming up and approximately when.

I'm tired of all the teasing and "mystery" surrounding this release. I know that in the past we had problems with LSFNY and LAB, but at least for one we had a date and a reason for the delay and for the other, replacement discs were provided. I am happy with where DT is nowadays and don't blame the band for anything regarding this "fiasco", but I feel like it's the first time we haven't been informed like we have been (spoiled?) used to. Still, I'll buy whatever deluxe-special edition-director's cut version is released.

As for OTE, I'm tired of their teasing too, but will forever be grateful for the facts...

I mean, release is long overdue I think we all agree, but why do people make such a big deal out of it? Why do people get angry? It's a music DVD that's going to be in our homes sooner or later, there's plenty of amazing new music out there to listen while we wait for the DT DVD to come out, and definitely I don't think that either DT or OTE deserve the hate they're getting. DT has spoiled us by released things quickly & often, there are music DVD or albums that take years before being released (Tool lol), we shouldn't be making such of a big deal.

That being said, it wouldn't hurt anyone that DT puts out a press release (I always think of MP when I say press release olo) telling the fans that there was a delay, and that the release date was going to be pushed further for a bit.

Yeah the fact is the trailer (and description) said release date was May so its a bit shitty when we're in May and not even an update as to where it is/what the situation is...

obviously everyone who worked on this DVD did a good enough job that we're all still buying it. That reduces every possible complaint you guys have to add up to 49% of their total job at the very very very most. If it's more than 49%, then it would be selfless of you to buy it.


Now a little off topic extra-

And anyone who tells you to try to be selfless is leading you like a lamb to slaughter because it's an impossible attempt that only benefits a tyrant... And only benefits him for 15 minutes.

In other words, if you don't like the product enough to buy it, Dream Theater would be offended if you bought it out of pity- they don't need those kinds of fans, and they are not gonna change to make them happy anyway. They only care for those who understand- which seems to be all of us.
