I'm really pumped about it all, too. Unfortunately I was in Hong Kong for the entirely of the ADTOE cycle despite seeing DT three times on the previous cycle, and DT didn't really get anywhere close to Hong Kong.

From youtube clips I've seen from the tour, the stage show looked excellent and performances sounded mostly great.

I live in Hong Kong and I went to Taipei to see them
Ah, do I know you?

I considered going to Taipei, but the cost of the flight and the fact I'd be going to Taipei again the next weekend for a conference convinced me otherwise.

Yeah, I have to say, I think this was probably the best tour I have seen from them.  I think you'll love the DVD.
Oh, well, I'm sure I'll love the BluRay. Especially after En Vivo!. That completely opened my eyes to the potential of BluRay concerts. If Luna Park is anywhere near En Vivo levels of good from a production and performance standpoint, I'm sure it'll be my favorite DT concert film.

Not sure at all that "The Dark Eternal Night" is the best song from "Systematic Chaos"...
Not sure at all that anyone said it was.
I did! Unless you count ITPoE1 and ITPoE2 as separate songs. Then ITPoE1's the best song.

That said, TDEN's the one I can't imagine without Mike Portnoy, I think it's the more interesting song to play with Mangini. So, wahey.

TAC

Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

TDEN was a f%#king BEAST on this tour!

Agreed! Definitely another song I'm looking forward to see!

You know, it was great on the SC tour, but it went to the next level last summer.

I'm a bit sad that The Count of Tuscany didn't make it on the BluRay. They played the song during this tour, but not on the night of the recording.

They did? The way I remember it they played it on the summer tour leading up to the release of ADToE but not on the actual ADToE tour.

cramx3

That is what I remember, I dont think it was played after the album was released... however, I do wish it made it on the DVD either by being played one of those nights or as bonus footage from a previous concert.

Maybe he's not serious, but he's right, for sure.

me7

Seriously? The concerts played before an album release and the concerts played after an album release are considered two separate tours?

Jinx

But of course. How can they have A Dramatic Tour of Events when prior to the album the only song they were playing was OTBOA? I would count them as just a summer warm up tour, get the album out and then the Tour of Events (IMO)

Oh my  :censored God I cannot wait for this. The more I read the setlist, the more I salivate. Theres something for everyone on this disc(s). The mellow side with The Silent Man, Beneath The Surface, the rock side with These Walls and BMU,BMD and the epicness side with Outcry, BAI, TDEN and Metropolis.

Anyone else as excited as I am? Say  :yarr    ;D
BMU BMD doesn't rock.
Ah well,The Silent Man is gonna be great!  :metal

BMU BMD was awesome live. Didnt like the studio version much though

Well, whether you consider it two separate tours or different legs of the same tour isn't really the issue.  I think the point is simply that they didn't play it at all once the album came out and they started more officially touring in support of the album.  And the Luna Park show was over a year after the last time they played TCOT.

So, yeah, they did play it earlier, but not once the album came out.  Maybe we'll get lucky and it'll show up as a bonus track or on a YJR release.

I feel the same way. BMU BMD felt a bit weak and bland on the studio version but the live version kicks major ass. Pretty rocking stuff!

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

As I said multiple times, I don't really get the hate. It's notthe typical DT song, but it's not horrible in the least!

Man, that's such a fun song, the chorus is incredibly catchy and James pulls off some terrific screams. I loved seeing it live, I swear James pointed at me when he entered the last chorus, it was like ''YOU build me up, YOU break me down..." My heart stopped for a second and my friends were so jealous.  :lol

DebraKadabra

That's pretty hip... though I'd be jelly of you too, to be honest.

This. I just don't understand why some people say it's on the same level with the likes of You Not Me and Never Enough. :dunno:

I think I am on Ville's side, but Never Enough is musically less appalling than YNM, I guess  :lol

At least YNM has a catchy chorus and they didn't try to emulate any particular band :D

I think it's a decent little song, and doesn't deserve the hate it gets at all. There are at least a couple of songs on the album I think are worse.

Actually the chorus is the worst part of the song for me.  :-\

All three songs are awful, end of story

Then sadly, despite the many, many years (and livestock) we had shared together, the day came when I realized she and I were not a match.
