My name is Blake Graham, some of you may remember when I posted my master's thesis on SFAM.

Since then I haven't had much time to work on music scholarship. I moved out of NYC and back to South Carolina and joined the prog-metal band Doctrine of Ethos. Last summer we released our debut EP recorded and produced by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me). I wanted to let the forum know about some music they might be interested in - both me and the bass player are HEAVILY influenced by Dream Theater, and the drummer and vocalist are also fans, so DT finds it's way into our music frequently.

So this is sort of shameless promo, but we've also been releasing a lot of content for free. If you like what you hear, please follow us on twitter/facebook and consider buying our album.
A live video of "Time is Near" is up on YouTube

I've reopened a blog dedicated to lessons. The first guitar lesson just went up, and there are going to be weekly theory and guitar lessons.

Plus Corey has been posting all kinds of stuff about the goings-on with the band. His YouTube channel is here:

Check out the drumcam of our metal cover of E.T. by Katy Perry. (We go by the name Tripod when we're doing covers)

We just finished a photo shoot that is up on our facebook.

Holy shit, I'm not the only person living in South Carolina here (I refuse to say I'm from this state).
If you play in the Florence area let me know. Or you can come to Hartsville and make things real easy for me

Do you have any club contacts there? If we can get a gig that seriously might happen. How is the scene in Florence?

I just put up a new blog post of a fan favorite song called "Rise of the Machines." It's not released yet, but the crowds love it live. I break down the solo and then play it up to speed.
You can find it here:
