Prog/Metal Vocal Showdown #27: Rue vs Kuntz

So, for those that don't immediate recognize the names (or think... I know them, but from where), it's Pagan's Mind vs Vanden Plas.  Both have very distinctive voices - unsurprising from European prog-metal acts... Rue from Norway; Kuntz from Germany.  I dig both bands, but probably give the edge to Vanden Plas.  And frankly, I've been spinning the fuck out of their Netherworld release from earlier this year.

Kuntz gets the edge for me.

Kuntz without a doubt. Although sometimes I have trouble hearing which words he sings.

This is a damn good matchup.  I can't split them.  About a month ago I would have easily said Nils but after really digging into VP lately, it's too hard to call.  Rue has the technical ability, but Kuntz has the delivery and emotion.
