The closest I've ever come to seeing this was Dream Theater at a Fix For 96 show on December 14, 1996 (Birch Hell) and Rush at the Meadowlands the next evening, December 15, 1996.
Dream Theater actually caught most of the Rush show on the 14th at Nassau Coliseum before driving down to Jersey for their show which didn't start until after midnight as I recall.
I called it my Rush-Dream weekend and made a shirt with tickets to both shows silk-screened on it. I still have it.
That was a great weekend.
