Can I say neither? :P

Dogs seem to be very messy (and most dog owners seem to really suck, which doesn't help my liking for them), and I've had girlfriends who've had cats, and they've always been cool, but I'd be fine without ever owning either.

Holy blanket statement  :\    What the hell does that even mean?

Exactly what I said.  I didn't say "all"; I said "most."  Which is obviously an exaggeration.

But if I had a nickel for every time some idiot dog owner...

-let his/her dog run all over the place not on a leash
-jump on strangers without doing anything to stop it
-let them bark all day when they are at work and the windows are open
-didn't clean up after them after they pooped in someone else's grass
-etc.

...I'd be retired already.

If you are one of the good dog owners, great, but I've seen far too many people who don't have a clue as to how to handle or take care of a dog.

This is so hard for me to decide.

I love both dogs and cats equally.

I'm kind of agreeing with Kev - we have a goodly majority of "those" dog owners in our complex.  The not cleaning up after their dogs is a big one for me.  Yeah, it's gross but you made the commitment to get the pooch in the first place - clean up after it.

I'm sure you're not one of "those" owners, Barry. :)

Exactly.  The owners who let their dog jump on anyone are the worst.  "Oh, he just wants to play, and he would never hurt anyone."  Congratufuckinglations, but if I am heading somewhere, maybe I don't want your stupid dog's disgusting slobber all over me and my nice clothes, asshole.  :censored :censored :censored

Holy confirmation bias, Batman!

Yes, I'm a dog person. I've always owned dogs, and cats just plain aren't good pets for me. Mostly because of my allergy to cat dander, but mainly because the cats I've known through my sisters and my ex girlfriend have never really occupied their lives. Just their houses.  :lol

Cats easily. Fuck dogs.

+1,000,000,000

I adore Cats and Hate dogs almost entirely.

Also pet rats a close second. They're lovely, affectionate, smart and tidy.

Cats and rats together.... hm.... that marriage can't be expected to last long

Obviously i'd one or t'other :P

Dogs. Cats are fuckin' annoying and stupid and they should be eradicated. Except for the big ones that can kill things bigger than a mouse. They're cool.

Cat person, always have been. Don't get me wrong though, I like dogs too, but I don't think I want to own one myself.

And perhaps I am one of those weird cat people.  Besides cats, I actually like rodents as well.

Not exactly. I don't hate cats, and I definitely don't want to kill them. It's just that every cat I've ever met has been aloof, pretentious, unsociable, cold, and self-entitled. Plus, cats are viscous animals. They kill hundreds of thousands of bird every year, for fun. Most of the times they don't even eat them. So yes, I think they are sadistic animals and likely in league with the devil.

What do you expect? Cats are natural born hunter. As for cats being cold, unsociable and stuff, all I have to say is you haven't been fortunate enough to meet the "right" cats. Maybe I am lucky, or maybe I know how to pick sociable ones; but ALL 4 cats I ever raised are sociable, and a couple of them even "act" like dogs and make you play with them!  :hat

Just give a cat food, water, and litter box and they take care of themselves.  Dogs are dirty, smelly, often have ear-piercing barks, and have to be taken outside two times a day.

Seriously I have always been a dog person until Panda and I moved in together. She turned me into a cat lover
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
