Dog person or cat person?
« on: January 10, 2013, 07:06:07 AM »
What kinda pet do you prefer, or what pet animal if you don't or have never had one? I went with dogs. I dunno, I just sorta relate to dogs better than to, say, cats. They're fun. And you?

Definitely cats. They are elegant, free and indipendent. And amazingly good looking and funny  :lol

Dogs but I like cats as well.

I remember reading a quote that went something along the lines of, "Dogs are members of the family while cats are merely observers"

Where's the option for "all pets are bastards"?

That pretty much sums it up. I'm definitely not a dog guy.

I've always had cats and dogs growing up and I think I definitely lean more to cats. However, I think I want a dog as my next pet. Although my cats are only 11... so I think thats quite a ways away! There is no way they would tolerate a dog in the house.

I've only ever had one pet which was a hamster when I was a kid, but I'm definitely a dog person. Would really like one at some point. So loyal, playful and friendly (well, most of them!) - exactly what I'd want in a pet. Cats are far too independent for me to want one as a pet and most of them seem to have something about them that suggests to me they are pure evil or at least somehow plotting my demise  :jets:

Kittens are awesome though and cats do make for the better animals when it comes to stupid internet pictures/memes

Dogs symbolize unconditional love while cats' conditional love, while sometimes painful, is more consonant with human behavior.  I don't have either, so enough waxing.  (To answer the question, herbs are my pets.)

Love dogs. Love cats too. Cats get boring though, while dogs are always chipper and excited.

cats are retarded and hilarious and dogs are also retarded and hilarious, just in different ways.
But I've never had cats since I'm allergic, so I'll go with dog person.

I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and all 5 of them have me wrapped around their paws. The one who has me the most is my almost 17 yr old. She gets whatever she wants. Also, at work we have a stray cat that we have named Nugget and she comes to my voice mainly. She knows when I get to work and one night I was talking to her at the window and she was meowing back at me. They call me the cat whisperer now. I'm also the only one she lets get close to her. I will never understand how people can just abandon animals like that.

Can I say neither? :P

Dogs seem to be very messy (and most dog owners seem to really suck, which doesn't help my liking for them), and I've had girlfriends who've had cats, and they've always been cool, but I'd be fine without ever owning either.

I've had both growing up and they're both cool, but I don't have either now and I don't plan to anytime soon.  I've got kids instead.  If I have to be responsible for feeding something and cleaning up it's shit (literally) then I'd prefer if it eventually learns to speak English.
