Inspired by a comment from Wasteland in the Lego thread. Yeah, most remember that searing sensation of unknowingly stepping on a piece of Lego in bare feet, hurts like a bitch.

What other really stupid injuries hurt like a motherfucker?

Knowing exactly where your coffee table is, but still navigating in the dark and managing to slam your shin into the exact pinpoint corner of the table that will inflict the most pain.

An obvious one is paper cuts...so tiny and insignificant and yet if you forget about it and run your hand under some hot water or get some salt in it...you will remember then. Stubbing one's toe on the leg of your bed or the corner of a dresser (at least those are my two top toe-stubbing spots). Bites and/or cuts on the side of your inside-cheek or tongue...that will no doubt stay much longer than necessary given that you'll be screwing around with it all day and/or bite it again, causing it to swell...rinse/wash/repeat. I mean, what idiot bites their own tongue/mouth? This fuckin' idiot.

That's all I can think of right now...back to Raven and it not singing...

Recently, I was bare foot and had a screen door close on the back of my heel as I was stepping through the doorway. That was stupid and painful.

Anyway, papercuts hurt like hell! They look so tiny and insignificant, but they can pain you for days, especially if you have to deal with salt and have no way to mend it (it happened to me).

Another thing that happen to me quite often is the tendons of my feet getting tangled, thos freezing the toes in an unnatural and extremely painful position, causing cramps to the muscles. I have suffered from this since I was a child, and now my nerves are so used to that pain that I barely cringe when it happens. I even stimulate those cramps myself picking up pens or books with my toes.

I know, I'm a freat and masochist

using hand sanitizer (like Purell) when you have a minor scrape or cut on your hands you forgot about. Hurts like heck for that second before the alcohol evaporates.

Particularly painful on pesky hangnails.

Getting your hair stuck in chair screws or under your armpits when you wear big winter jackets or accidentally stepping on it when you duck to get something.

Maybe not the most painful but definitly the most foolish thing i've done in that area.

Accidently cutting my self with a knife while slicing a bun AND reading the newspaper at the same time and NOT realise it until i was a third way through my finger. Only time in my life i've been close to passing out.

Never a problem here.

1) Looking in the fridge for something, then standing up only to realize the Mrs was in the freezer looking for something. Head, meet bottom of freezer door in rapid fashion.

2) The distance between the last step to my basement, and the place where the stairway ceiling merges with the basement ceiling (at 90^o) is about 6 feet, 1 1/2 inches. I'm 6'2". When I forget to slightly duck or tilt my head... I have three very straight dents on the very top of my head. I would take a picture to show - but there's too much glare.

When I am smoking and my lips are dry, the cig sticks to my lips as I try to pull it out after a drag, burning the inside of my fingers. Finger burns hurt so fucking much.

I seem to have proven I do not learn from my mistakes cause for the 3rd time in the two month since I moved into this new apartment I go into my bedroom and the ceiling fan is on so I look up and bang my knees against the bed really hard. I need to either move the bed or stop leaving the room while the fan is on. This scenario happened to a human being exactly the same way 3 times.
Now that's stupid.

I'm pretty sure I gave myself a mild concussion by hitting my head on the freezer door. Put bag of ice on floor, open freezer door, bend down to pick up bag of ice, go to stand up and BANG. I couldn't remember my own phone number for a bit.
