So much good came out. So many good debut albums by little indie folk bands, and so many great singles by new bands in general, but mostly none of those made it into my list. My 2011 list wasn't in order but this one will be.

MOAR THAN 5 GOOOOO!

12)Deftones - Koi No Yokan
11)The Smashing Pumpkins - Oceania
10)Tetrafusion - Horizons EP
9)Foreign Fields - Anywhere But Where I Am
8)The Mars Volta - Noctourniquet
7)Rush - Clockwork Angels
6)Serj Tankian - Harakiri
5)Muse - The 2nd Law
4)Silversun Pickups - Neck Of The Woods
3)Coheed And Cambria - The Afterman: Ascension
2)Yeasayer - Fragrant World
1)Gazpacho - March Of Ghosts

We also had some great debuts by Walk The Moon, The Lumineers, Imagine Dragons and Of Monsters And Men, but while those albums have great songs I didn't feel the albums as a whole were good enough to break into my list. I've also yet to listen to several albums from 2012 I was interested in, such as Julien-K's We're Here With You. I liked what I heard of Beardfish's The Void, but unfortunately I haven't gotten around to the second half of the album. Also of note is that the Red Hot Chili Peppers have been releasing singles+b-sides of songs from their I'm With You sessions that didn't make that album since about last fall, but it's not technically an album.  :lol

Biggest disappointment of the year was The Fray's Scars & Stories. I know this band gets a lot of flak to begin with, but I really liked their first two albums. While this one had the same sound, I felt it lacked any of the memorable hooks and choruses they had before, and the whole thing just came off as very soulless and by the numbers.
Hire me. I'm talentless but malleable.
