Pat Metheny.
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

Esbjörn Svensson Trio. It's jazz in a way, but absolutely lovely and brilliant music. Not traditional jazz at all, DEFINITELY worth a listen.
Tuesday Wonderland
Dolores in a Shoestand
Dodge the Dodo (with Pat Metheny, live)

And Groove Or Die is one of the most-catchy and groovy shred tunes I know. Great guitarist.

This.

The Hellecasters are excellent too.

His Resolution album was pretty damn good too.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.
