I also find I&W "gross" and that has a little girl on it. Both are unpleasant to look at for my eyes. Where exactly do you get the nerve to assume to know precisely what my problem is with the WDADU cover? What you implied never even occurred to me before. I see you also recklessly accused someone of "homophobia" in similar fashion. What puzzles me now about the forum at this point is how can someone with such an attitude be an "alumni"...

To me when someone brings "gross" into the equation, and we're pretty much talking about a cover that's nothing more than a dude getting 'branded' with the Majesty logo..... I can't help but wonder what's gross?  Using the word 'gross' to me just makes it sound like someone that's on the immature or young side.

I still don't see the problem with the cover. Is it my favorite.. well no. But I don't find it 'gross' or distasteful.

Everyone is different... I'm sure a lot of people hate it just for having a somewhat effeminate guy on it.. why? My line of thinking was homophobia.  Plenty of folks out there that think that way so it's not out of the realm of possibility.  My wife has a lot of gay friends and family and after seeing the things they've been through nothing surprises me anymore.

I apologize if I offended you.
It's okay, no harm done. I get your line of thinking when applied to society in general, but DTF always struck me as a tolerant community and I never encountered homophobia or racism here.

I don't understand the hangup with album covers.  Of course I appreciate good ones, but if it's not my taste, so what.  The music ultimately is what counts.

I can't help but feel that the general outrage towards the 'offending' covers has been somewhat overestimated, here.

I can't speak for Sycsa but whereas I don't find the covers to my tastes for one reason or another, that dislike isn't enough that it actively plays on the mind from day to day. What started out as just sharing why we like certain covers less than others, something got blown out of proportion somewhere.

Of course it's the music that matters, but we can probably drop it now, can't we?

Hopefully we can look forward to either a single or some snippets in the next couple of weeks and get ready to argue about those.

Seems to me that a case labeled "Masters" means the masters are actually IN the case and done?  Did JP say he was on his way to mastering?

LET THE SPECULATION BEGIN CONTINUE !!!!!

Agreed. It was only intended as a lighthearted write-up on my part.

This.

If mastering is done by the end of today...

We could get a single perhaps as early as this weekend? (Doubtful, but you never know. OtBoA was not released with a music video, so there would be no delays there.)

I think the Systematic Chaos cover with the freeway crossings and stuff looks really cheap. But the special edition with only the sky and the traffic light is one of my favorites. I love the colors and how relatively simple it is. Just a traffic light, and a sky for background.

I think both covers are some of DT's best. But yes, I do prefer the special edition one.

Are we (the forum) really that insecure about our sexuality that we can't enjoy a cover with a guy on it?

For me, the problem is that an armpit is an armpit, no matter who it belongs to. Not what I wanna see on my album covers, y'know? :lol

I'm not a fan of that album cover either. Shall we just assume, for future reference, that armpits should be avoided?

According to Amazon Japan (although the translation isn't very clear), there will be a special edition of the album formed by a CD and a DVD with a 5.1 mix and some bonus content.

Here's the page (maybe you'll need a translator): https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%89%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC%E3%83%A0%E3%83%BB%E3%82%B7%E3%82%A2%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC-DVD%E4%BB%98%E3%82%B9%E3%83%9A%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A3%E3%83%AB%E3%83%BB%E3%82%A8%E3%83%87%E3%82%A3%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A7%E3%83%B3/dp/B00DP4M6NC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372806779&sr=8-1&keywords=dream+theater

May I ask why "Please read the campaign page must be the application of the discount. (Products Marketplace, gift certificates, Kindle, MP3 download, PC download software, PC software, the javari.jp not eligible)" is important?

Speculating based on translating the Japanese Amazon page? Now this thread is finally back on track! :lol

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

No, he's right. I don't know enough about Japanese written scripts to tell you what they are, but フトダウン definitely belongs to a different system than 割引の適用に.

Pretty sure. I don't know the difference between hiragana, katakana, or kanji myself, but they're distinct enough from each other that there definitely seems to be something up. Unless you really can switch between them at will. I dunno, Genowyn would know better than me.
