For the record, I'd just like to say that this whole thread has been terrific from start to finish, which was a few pages ago  :lol

Now we wait for a track list, cover, single, and eventually the album. The next 3 months are going to be exciting  :D

I'm wondering if people could help me clear something up since my memory on the subject is a bit fuzzy at the moment...when were the snippets of tracks from ADTOE released in relation to the release of OTBOA and the album drop date? I can't remembee for the life of me where they fit inon the timeline. I for one wouldn't be bothered if they did something similar this time and would definitely give them a listen since I don't feel like hearing those snippets detracted from the impact of hearing thealbum through for the first time :tup

Also...I third the motion to archive if this gets locked simply for Lonestar's Evening with quote if for nothing else :lol

Hmm, a brief perusal of Wikipedia suggests that the snippets were released after the single, leading up to the release of the album.

I don't have any official dates on that, though.

Locked or actually deleted, I don't care

The huge amount of awesomeness in this thread doesn't deserve to be deleted.

I think it started being released on early August, late-July. That would be almost a month after the single, OTBoA.

I suggest we start a new thread about the album once we have a tracklist and an artwork. Hopefully we'll ge them silmutaneously like with BC&SL.

I suggested we rolled back to the original thread about 70 pages ago: https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=34945.0

There were some real gems in here too :lol

I dunno if this image has been already posted, anyway I think it's not bad though it's most probably a fake.

I can already spot the use of clipart, mediocre photoshop skills, and can see a few anomolies and lack of attention to detail regarding the way it was all put together.

So, it could be real. :neverusethis:

I like it. I mean, the layout itself. The colors used and the composition looks very cool. The fact that the curtain is so blatantly mirrored, yes, that does look horrific.

Yeah, that would be a good idea. As said, DT are no longer in the studio, and this thread is so huge that it's a pain in the ass to find some awesome stuff (like the lyric paper thing) from dozens of pages ago.

so has the time come for the "Dream Theater: Dream Theater" thread? perhaps at the release of the cover/track listing?

I think it would be pretty redundant to start a new thread. Either roll back to the previous one which had album speculations or stay with this one.

Well, starting a new thread would allow bosk to delete this one sometime in the future saving the speculations based on actual information that will happen in the next few months on a new version of the thread :D

That's an ugly mix of colors, along with the curtain being mirrored.

Define wrong font, looks exactly the same to me...

The top font is the real one.

The middle one is a cheap knock off. The easiest way to tell is by looking and the M's tail.

The bottom one is what they use for promoting most of the time, and it's all kinds of wrong. The easiest way to tell is the second A and R. Basically, if you were to download a Dream Theater font, and then type it in while only capitalizing the D and first T, you'd get the bottom font. To correct this for the knockoff font, just capitalize the second A and R. But why do that when you can just get the real one from BlobVanDam to which you only have to hit D twice and the whole correct logo shows up.

Of course it's fake, how is that even being questioned? I don't even see a curtain and the symbol, all I see is poor design and the words "cheap" and "amateur" written all over it.

Also, I bet a band somewhere has made an album cover like this. It's just too simple of an idea for a band like DT (Especially if Hugh Syme is making the cover).

Hugh Syme?
That's not the cover art. For one, it's not official; for another, there is no track list, so both are speculations.

Personally, I think the cover will just be the purple Majesty logo. Why do I think that? because this:https://www.facebook.com/dreamtheaterofficial?fref=ts

Though that is also just a guess.

I'm sure we'll find out...soon
