Welp, this has been the best day at DTF for as long as I can remember! How's it going Randy? Kinda cool to see a marketing dude here! I'm going to school for Marketing right now, so it's pretty cool to see what could possibly be doing in my future! Anyway yeah, I love you DTF, thanks for an interesting browse today!  :tup

Haha, this is just the tip of the iceberg, man.  Day's going well, even though I'm the last one in the office!

BTW - you guys are way more obsessed than I thought you were.

You don't know the half of it.

Edit - Correction - we will never be as obsessed as TOOL fans.

At this point, I'd imagine that the only Tool fans left are the obsessed ones.

I suppose that implies that you know exactly when for both of those dates.  ;D

I'll wait.

Another thought: since it's a double vinyl, have both records in the set two different colors.  A UK band I like released double 7" singles years ago, one vinyl was black, one was colored.  Just throwing it out there.

Just do    a wintersun and release three songs plus two short interludes in September and the rest one and a half years later.

Or to keep everyone rabid, how about one song a month.  Just one.

I almost feel evil even suggesting that.

More ideas (sorry lonestar):
HD version of the album to download
Individual instrument stems for the album.  We like to do remixes.

Well, the HD version of ADTOE was made available through HD Tracks some time after the album was released, but it would be cool to have it available upon release this time, unless it's already planned. And yes, bring on the stems again :D

As long as there's a nice creative deluxe edition of the album, I'll give you guys my money, no problem. Like I said I love the BCSL deluxe box, and I like albums that have a special edition that's actually special.

With this, are you guys talking about a YouTube live event or something of the sort?  Where the band can comment on each song beforehand?

That kinda reminds me what JP and JLB did with ADTOE, where they kinda gave an explanation about each song before the album came out. I thought that was really cool and it totally built the anticipation for me tenfold!

Well, a Live In The Studio DVD with the additional band commentary would be something beyond awesome IMO. :caffeine:

Those all sound great. I was thinking like a Jammit thing (which idk if I should say this, but I ran into a guy wearing a DT shirt when I was at Chipotle, and it turned out he worked at Jammit. He didn't not say nothing that wasn't about Dream Theater...)

But yea, something like that or a live Youtube event (but it should still be recorded and released later!!!) where the band can play a show to a virtual audience and even read comments projected on a big screen or something as they're playing would be awesome.
