Grazie!

Also, I very much dig that the announcement was sort of announced with the Italian hour. They should stick with it, let the others subtract 6 hours :P

Yeah, DT should become more eurocentric. After all, we are the best, aren't we?

Surely Italian time is GMT+2 at the moment? The UK is currently +1 (BST).

Inter-continental banter aside, I've just found this over on another forum I often frequent -

https://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/power-quest/881170-dream-theater-new-album-news.html

Is it an old interview that's been rehashed due to lack of actual information?

I think it'd be interesting if they released a self-titled. Perhaps odd since it's coming so late in their career, but I'd like it.

Thank god that was just the OP's inability to listen properly.
Only a debut album should ever be self titled. At any other time it just comes across as either lazy or pretentious imo.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

I could understand if ADToE had been self-titled, purely because it represented the beginning of a new era for the band. To do so now would be a bit lazy though, I agree.

Maybe should, but plenty of bands do it for something other than the debut. Even the Beatles waited till what would become their second to last.

I kind of liked when Avenged Sevenfold did it, as it represented (IMO) them truly finding their sound.

However, for DT to do it would be out of place.

Not sure about the time difference for Italy, but I can confirm that 11:00 a.m. EST is the time.

Can't say I agree. Avenged Sevenfold's self-titled was a major letdown for me after the flawlessness of City of Evil.
Yeah, I have no idea what the cakeless person in that analogy is meant to be eating. If he's got some sort of cake substitute, it should really have been worked into the narrative at some point. As it stands, the options are:

  • Hoard a cake just to stare blankly into its doughy edifice.
  • Make futile chewing motions with your mouth while starving to death.

Great to hear! Italy, as well as the rest of Central Europe is EST+6! :D

Now, speculation? Long title? Short title? Single word? Dark or light artwork? How many cheesy song names? :D

Although i still believe it is DT, it is not unreasonable given that the album is in the mixing process right now.

It'll be noon here. Can't wait!

I'm guessing the big announcement will be that there will be an instrumental track on the new album, and JMX will sing lead on it.

All of them :D

We'll have to find the prediction threads afterwards and see if anyone scored. Hoping it will be me just for the sake of me saying we'll have two JLB lyrics :xbones

This: https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=35334.0 is probably the best prediction thread, I will be seeing if I scored with my 3 different fake albums
