No, I liked that kind of cottinuity! It was a cool thing to put the records into a perspective, I guess.
Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. I guess I think it's time for a change.

You mean it's... time to make a change?

TIME!

FOR!

CHANGE!

But as we get closer, was it really worth what we have learned?

ROOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Is that related to JR's solo thingy he's raising funds for?

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

May be, but I don't see why it couldn't be related to the new album itself!

Maybe a guest spot on the new album? Arranging some orchestral stuff or perhaps performing something.

May be, but I don't see why it couldn't be related to the new album itself!

It very well might be, but given JR's solo project in the works, it wouldn't be my first thought. We'll see!

I'd have gone for "ComeDyT," in the spirit of the original.

Although, er, I do fear the word "comedy" might be just slightly too strong a word to adequately describe the events of the last page or so.

today.. with DT, it was unbelievable! almost unreal, more than I could describe with words. I'm done for my part of the work. another checkpoint in life for me, I'm feeling happy after such a long time. I don't need to say all the new music sounds awesome by the way, right? we already know that. :)

So, Blob?  :D

Well there you go! I'm interested to hear his contribution to the album now. I've always enjoyed guest musicians on DT's albums.

I'm hoping for some cool SFAM style polyrhythms. And I'm hoping to actually hear MM.

That sounds very promising, good to see that Mangini was involved directly in songwriting, not only coming up with his drum parts.
I expect some sick rhythms in the new album, and as BlobVanDam said, hopefully better drum sound-overall mix.

This. And also bass audio at comparable levels to where they were in ToT. JM needs some love.

Like a surprise vocal chorus by MM?
