Too lazy to research very much.

Another DTF member does the work.

I think that he means "ultra fast" guitar solo. Hence is mind blown. Just my 2 cents.

"Ripping" is just a generic raaaaawwwwkkk superlative. So it's good and likely at least somewhat technical (hence the marveling at JR's sightreading).
Yeah, I have no idea what the cakeless person in that analogy is meant to be eating. If he's got some sort of cake substitute, it should really have been worked into the narrative at some point. As it stands, the options are:

  • Hoard a cake just to stare blankly into its doughy edifice.
  • Make futile chewing motions with your mouth while starving to death.

He could also mean: JP shows a fast guitar lead/line that he has written and plays from his mind! JR plays the same lead/line on keyboard from a chart by JP (probably for the first time) and sightreads it flawlessly. Hence the new level: mind = blown.

Sry if that was what you meant!

A "ripping" guitar solo clearly means that it's so fast that it ripped a hole in the space time continuum, creating a time dilation field around the offices of Over The Edge, causing time to progress at a 1:4 ratio of time relative to us, resulting in major delays in getting news about the DVD/Bluray.

Surely it's about time we got some kind of YouTube report or something? Come on Jordan you are failing us!!
The creation and destruction of harmonic and 'statistical' tensions is essential to the maintenance of compositional drama. Any composition (or improvisation) which remains consonant and 'regular' throughout is, for me, equivalent to watching a movie with only 'good guys' in it, or eating cottage cheese.

Yeah i've been thinking about this, it seems that every DT member has some other stuff going on besides DT, like Jordan who is involved in a new app and a new instrument, James probably doing some work for his solo stuff, MM has an instructional DVD coming as well, so they might not be in the studio all the time.

But they are quite silent this time, especially JR.

1. ADTOE was a classic DT album, what is going to be different in the upcoming one?Are you trying new things this time?

2.how much difference does the involvement of Mike Mangini make in the writing process?

3.Is James going to record his vocals in the same studio as the other guys, or is he going to do it like in ADTOE?

These are my contributions so far. I hope they choose one of them at least.
