LaBrie solo album.  :yarr
Is he recording his new solo album and the new DT album at the same time?

Dunno, maybe he'll only join DT guys on studio when they're done writing/recording instrumentals. I don't know what's the scheme.

He will be recording both albums at the same time, according to this: https://twitter.com/Piratecjs/status/289784777979097089

It can't break like a bone, but something similar can happen.

Anyway, let's get back IT...  :blush

Do we know if this time around they decided to write all the album and then record or writing and recording each song one by one?

I would hope write all then record all. That way they have more time to fine tune the songs and make changes.

Dunno. What I don't know either is if JLB is recording his vocals at home like for ADToE (in any case, as he's recording his vocals for his solo album too, it would be more comfortable that way).

Rupture.

Just remember Deep Purple's LP Rupture of the deep.

Oh, yes, it then becomes deep purple.......

Well, last time, Richard Chycki was the recording engineer for the vocals when JLB recorded them in Canada. This time, Chycki is the recording engineer for the whole album, so I dunno... Does that mean they're all in New York? Or that DT is recording here in Canada? I mean, I doubt it, but...

DT is in New York City as what looks like Cove City Sound Studios.

Yes, for the new album writing sessions. Although, from what I understand, when DT is putting down scratch tracks and recording instruments, James is recording vocals on his solo record.

Unless of course, if James is actively writing tambourine parts with the guys.

Does anyone think there will be a JR-only song or a JLB-only song on DT12, or any future DT album? For example, JP had Beneath the Surface, Wither, etc... I'd like to see at least one song solely written by Jordan or James on the next album.

Unless that already happened with Far From Heaven, since it's only Jordan and James on that song.

Far From Heaven probably came out of writing Breaking All Illusions as a band. I bet we'll see another JP song, but I don't know about anyone else.

It would be cool to see a song only written by two or three members excluding JP. Not that I dislike JP's writing at all, since he's the core writer along with JR, but Vacant was really awesome with just JR and JM contributing, it would offer a nice uniqueness.

I think you are right. I would stimulate diversity and positive conflict within the album. A record needs to be coherent within itself, but not without turns or stylistic variations.
