As long as he doesn't get a t-shirt to match it I am set
(I know I'm repeating myself, but I do it partially because some people think it's so amusing and others think it's annoying, deal with it :rollin)

Why no pics of the guys themselves in the studio? All we've gotten is JR's hands, and a mystery third hand.

It's because they're the ones taking pics of each other's instruments!

I was just thinking about this earlier.  I think it's a cool way to build up the suspense.  In the past, we've gotten videos and/or a bunch of updates on Facebook/Twitter, etc.  This time, pictures of the equipment.  Not much talk, no pictures of the guys, just pictures of the equipment.

And it still manages to build the excitement.  Moog Taurus Pedals!  Mangini's got a keyboard for something!  Jordan grew a third arm!

Yeah, so it would be cool of them to actually tell us something every once in a while and see us go batshit insane with speculation :rollin

With all these pictures floating around, I wouldn't be surprised if DT's next album has a sticker like:

From John Petrucci's Facebook-page:

"It's amazing to see all the positive comments about the JP13. I really appreciate the support and enthusiasm. Of course I love and use all of the sig JP Music Man models we've created over the years but I have to say that the 13 is my favorite of all! It just has that "magic" thing about it. The new DiMarzio pickups, the preamp and boost, the 17" radius rosewood fretboard, the beautiful silver finish and of course the perfect neck and body design make it the ultimate guitar. I spent all day writing with the DT guys yesterday and the 13 sounded so incredible and felt so amazing that the riffs were flying out of the guitar with such ease and intensity that was so inspiring and so satisfying! Thank you Sterling for standing by the commitment you made 13 years ago which was to make tools for artists, and to not stop until we get it perfect!"

So there are new pickups in the guitar. More stuff to buy I guess :lol

I think I'd rather have a SUV or a station wagon than pickups in my guitar.

Anyone actually got a MM JP ?

How do they feel etc ?

It was always my dream to get one and buddy did. He let me borrow it for a year or so when he stopped playing guitar completely and to tell you the truth, it wasn't for me. I didn't like the feel or the location of the switches, it just didn't feel right. That said I'm always a sucker for piezo pickups (not sure if the JP13 has them).

I'm mainly a strat guy now. . .

A guy on our Chapel band last year had a JPX I think. I played the opening riff to Constant Motion on it and that was pretty cool.

The fact that DT are showing pics of their equipment, as opposed to pics of themselves does not even bother me. At least they are remembering their audience.
I know a major concern after MP left would be the communications with the fans, but thankfully post MP DT are doing more than fine in that department.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I'm sure this is Jordan's doing. He seems like the guy who'd be the one handling social media after MP.

I beg to differ:

Hi everyone!
Obviously you've all heard the news of Mike's departure from Dream Theater by now.
I felt it important to open up a line of communication in an effort to kill any rumors and to promote clarity.
I love Mike and really hope he's happy and successful in whatever he does.
***I realize that Mike was always the one to actively stay in touch with our fans, and I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to try to be at least a bit more present on both mine and DT's websites and to let you all know that I am here.****
To me, Dream Theater's story is one of defying the odds, standing for true integrity in music and creating our own success through perseverance and hard work, so although Mike's leaving is heartbreaking, I still look forward to an amazing musical journey that continues on with some of the most talented and respected musicians and composers on the planet!

This was the last time JP posted on his forum.
Yeah, but we've been getting interviews from all of them, even the "new Mike", notifications via their Facebook pages and Twitter accounts, a little on-the-road series via the official youtube channel, a lengthy end-of-year email and other random things. I feel just as well informed as I were before the split, really.
