Just lifted today, no running or biking (so no mileage). I think I'm going to lift MWF and do cardio TTS.

Increased the weight slightly. Still incredibly easy but the program says it's necessary to progress slowly to establish good form.

Biking: 80 miles
Running: 61 miles
Squat: 60x5
Bench: 50x5
Barbell Row: 70x5
Overhead Press: 50x5
Deadlift: 100x5

Lifted thirty minutes. Lifting is still very easy. Squats n deadlifts are fun; though not strenuous, I feel like they are forcing me to control my movements in a very particular way. Once I get to using plates, I'm sure it'll be more difficult. Bench is still too low to be difficult but I don't want to jump ahead in the program.  BB rows are medium, not that bad. But surpring difficulties on the Overhead Press. My shoulders suck really bad. I can do it but it's effin hard.

Ran a mile. Shinsplints gone, yay!

Hey guys, what do you think of the following HIIT workout? At my university's gym, there is an indoor track, in which 8 laps equals 1 mile. For my workout, I alternate between sprinting a lap and walking a lap for 20-25 minutes. Do you think that is sufficient? Or does that allow for too much rest time? I got a good workout, so I'm just wondering if there's a more efficient way.

2/14/13 - Finally felt well enough to run today...I have been wiped out since Sunday. I don't know what I had/have but I had no energy and my throat was sore as all heck. Woke up this morning and felt good and my throat didn't hurt to swallow so I think I turned the corner. Enjoyed a nice 5 mile run at lunch.

Depends. HIIT can be done in so many ways. Get yourself a HR monitor and go by %HR can also be a great addition to what you're doing.

Your system doesn't seem too bad though. Depends how long the rest time and the sprint time is. 1/8 of a mile in sprinting speed probably takes you around 30 seconds, and walking in a normal pace should mean that the lap takes about 2 minutes. Not too bad.

For sure, it is pretty good. The only lousy part is that there are four rounded turns to take during the sprint, and I have no idea how to turn effectively so as to maintain speed with control.
