Just curious, but for those of you that rank Octavarium so low, what exactly is it about the album that you don't like?
I don't dislike it, but I still consider it one of their two least best albums, and for this simple reason: I almost never have the urge to listen to it. How much I love an album is largely dictated by how often I listen to it, and Octavarium and Systematic Chaos, both of which I liked a lot when they first came out, are by far the two DT albums I listen to the least.
Back to just OV, the title track is great - probably one of my 25 or 30 favorite DT songs - but everything else I can take or leave. Don't get me wrong, I like I Walk Beside You, Panic Attack, The Answer Lies Within and The Root of All Evil, but if I didn't hear any of them ever again, I probably wouldn't care that much. As for the rest, Never Enough is very forgettable (since the only thing about it that I like is the riff, and I can get that by listening to the Muse song it originally came from), These Walls is super boring, and Sacrificed Sons is easily the band's most boring and most forgettable 10-minute plus song ever.
So, there ya go.
