Tai Shan is actually pretty good if you're in the mood for it.  (that is to say, you're not in the mood to rock.) Having been to the mountains of China recently I believe I gained some perspective on it.  Not in my top half of Rush songs though.

Good pick with The Enemy Within, I love that track.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

I like Tai Shan.  I don't love it, but it is enjoyable.  It is certainly better than stuff like Rivendell, War Paint, Superconductor, Time and Motion and I Think I'm Going Bald.

What's wrong with War paint? It's a neat tune, and the last minute is especially catchy. As for Tai Shan, it's one of their more forgettable tracks in my opinion, except for that little instrumental break between the verses.

And Superconductor is a catchy little foot tapper.

Songs on bold are great, especially Time and Motion.

Time and Motion has some of their most disgustingly ugly vocal melodies ever.

I think I have a hard time getting past the "Superconductor" voice. :lol

As for War Paint, the cheese factor is a little high on that one.  Not that I don't mind cheese with my music at times (see: the 80s thread :lol), but there is good cheese and then there is bad cheese, and War Paint comes across to me as bad cheese.

I always took that to be a metaphor for the inhumanity of time marching inexorably forward.  It has nothing to do with beauty and aesthetics.  The lyrics seem to back this up; they are about what people do to try to make time useful and enjoyable, but it inherently is not.  Now whether the vocal melodies are enjoyable or not, I can't make that judgment for you, and I agree they are sort of harsh.  I like the song if I'm in the right mood.  It has a lot of cool stuff going on in it if you can get past the vocal lines.

Alright, well Lowdz, you're up. Feel free to start whenever.

By the way, I'd say the worst Rush song would be Rivendell, although there is some stuff on Rush that isn't too good either.

I think I'm going bald is awesome. Every time I hear it, I have to yell "I THINK I'M GOIN' BALD!!!!!" as loud as I can.
Perhaps you should ask bosk to reverse the "e" and "a" in the second half of your user name.

Cheers Unlegit but I'm a way off completing it yet. Anyone else feel free to go.

I like Rivendell. It balances out the album.

As for the first album, it's not a prog masterpiece, but it is a good hard rockin' classic album.

Fine with me  :tup. That means Ruba is up, but I'm not sure if he's ready yet either. If someone has their list ready, feel free to start.
