01. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon (1973) Yes, I love The Division Bell a ton, but had it been my choice for Floyd, it wouldn't have been number 1. And actually, up until a few days ago, The Wall was gonna be my number 1 pick, as that was a life-changing record for me back in 1990, but having listened to both The Wall and Dark Side the other day, it is clear that Dark Side of the Moon is not only the clear-cut better record, but the greatest rock album ever recorded. And it had a huge impact on me as well, once I heard it a few months after getting into The Wall. It is pretty much perfect in nearly every way imaginable. There isn't much I can say about this record that hasn't been said many times by many people over the years. It is simply the best.
