Word. It's not my favorite Pink Floyd album, but High Hopes is probably my PF favorite song.

There's nothing wrong with it, except that I'm not a fan of it. I just remember that Kev loves The Division Bell, so if it turns out to be his all time favorite album, I wouldn't be trilled.

01. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon (1973)


Yes, I love The Division Bell a ton, but had it been my choice for Floyd, it wouldn't have been number 1.  And actually, up until a few days ago, The Wall was gonna be my number 1 pick, as that was a life-changing record for me back in 1990, but having listened to both The Wall and Dark Side the other day, it is clear that Dark Side of the Moon is not only the clear-cut better record, but the greatest rock album ever recorded.  And it had a huge impact on me as well, once I heard it a few months after getting into The Wall.  It is pretty much perfect in nearly every way imaginable.  There isn't much I can say about this record that hasn't been said many times by many people over the years.  It is simply the best.

Favorite songs: Speak to Me, Breathe, On the Run, Time, The Great Gig in the Sky, Money, Us and Them, Any Colour You Like, Brain Damage and Eclipse

DSOTM is actually my least favourite of the "classic" Pink Floyd albums, but I'd still give it 5/5  .

Thanks!  Diversity is a big reason why I did this list this way, having only one album per artist.  Had I not done it that way, 5-6 artists would have taken up half of the top 50 alone, and what fun would that have been?  Doing one album per artist really showed off the range of artists I listen to, I think.

Nice list, man! I really enjoyed following it. Certainly can't argue with Dark Side of the Moon being #1, it's a fantastic album, although personally I like Animals just a little bit more. Great list!

Agreed, 100%. Dark Side is my third favourite Floyd album, but it's still amazing.

Ditto.. suffers from the fact it (along with Comfortably Numb and Another Brick Pt2) has the only songs that ever make it on the radio these days.  Nothing wrong with rating it #1 of all time for anyone though.
