What the title says: post here albums that you think are incredible masterpieces, but almost no one even heard about them.

Ill start with this one: Natural Snow Buildings - The Dance Of The Moon And The Sun

This is seriously a masterpiece. This is a combination of folk, drones and post rock, with some sort of an "otherworldly" atmosphere to it.
During its 2 hours and 40 minutes of music, this thing is fucking flawless. shifting moods for fear to bliss, this album is just amazing.
you can hear it here: https://grooveshark.com/#!/album/The+Dance+Of+The+Moon+And+The+Sun/5389879

Now your turn to post some albums :3

Triumvirat - Spartacus

Keyboard-driven 70s progressive rock, very much in the vein of ELP, but by Germans, and with thundering bass licks and production.

Rhea's Obsession - Between Earth and Sky. I have no idea how to describe them honestly. They're soft, ambient, trippy, almost paganish.

Forbidden - Green

I just don't get it.  People call it more of a "groove metal" album and call it one of the weaker albums in their catalog.   I disagree on all counts.  Best album they ever recorded, and IMO tied with Reign In Blood and Beneath The Remains as the greatest thrash albums of ALL TIME.

ANALOGMAN - Bedside Music
FNDMNTL - Revolution
Breath - Slow Down

All of these artists originated in Japan (actually just Analog and Breath), and all are electronic-based, mellow, at times minimalistic in nature. But the tones and soothing themes of these albums is very compelling. Sometimes there will be nothing but the sounds of nature coupled with a groovy tune softly humming along, at other times the music will be very jazzy, though still mellow, with an almost trance-like-theme behind it; and then there's those tracks that are downright sexy baby-making songs (Breath's music is all very intimate and meant to be romantic). I love these artists very, very much and am constantly spinning them during the late hours; and while I highly doubt anyone will get as much enjoyment out of these artists as I have, if you're in the mood for something soothing, these will certainly do the trick.

Note: I bought these albums on iTunes years ago when it first launched and found the artists under "J-Pop", which they are most certainly not; but apparently the ignorance of iTunes thinks anything inside Japan is 'J-pop'... It's really annoying and stupid (that might have changed recently). But if you'd like to purchase them, I think they're still up. I'm not sure though; I've searched high and low for other albums (though not since back then) and couldn't find anything so...they're special in that regard. To me, at least.

Band: Apple Pie
Album: Crossroad
Year: 2007
For Fans of:  Spock's Beard, A.C.T, retro-prog with lots of instrumental jamming

These guys are from Russia and this is their only album, and the production is a bit on the weak side, but musically, it's killer.

Here's a few tracks up on YouTube:

Track 01 - The Beginning (Once Upon a Time/Overture)
Track 08 - Solution
Track 12 - The Final

*disclaimer* the lyrics have a strong Christian message, similar to Neal Morse's solo output.

Tuca - Dracula, I Love You (1974)

A unique mix of Tropicalia (the late Brazilian was born as Valeniza Zagni da Silva) and Chanson (she was on Françoise Hardy's La Question).  Great androgynous vocals.

I'm not sure if I'd call these masterpieces but they're incredible albums from bands that should be much bigger.

Kevin Gilbert - The Shaming of the True (excellent concept album, he died before it was completed so Nick D'Virgilio was largely responsible for finishing it.)

Gosta Berlings Saga - Glue Works (great instrumental prog band, this album is kind of post-rock-ish but I'm not familiar enough with the genre to say whether it is or not. Check out the song Island.)

Comus - First Utterance (insanely weird, I guess it would be considered psychedelic folk. Opeth fans have probably heard of them since The Baying of the Hounds and My Arms, Your Hearse are lyrics from this album.)

District 97 - Trouble With Machines (new album, just came out this year. Great modern female-fronted prog. They're an excellent live band, and I'd highly recommend seeing them if you have the opportunity. Their debut Hybrid Child is great as well.)

The Fierce and the Dead - On VHS EP (another new album from 2012, also instrumental. Best of all, its free! Also, the guitarist Matt Stevens' solo albums are pretty good.
https://thefierceandthedead.bandcamp.com/album/on-vhs)

Wobbler - Rites at Dawn (very Yes-like. Not exactly original but still good.)

Museo Rosenbach - Zarathustra (incredible Italian prog album from the 70s. I'm just getting into Italian prog and so far this album has been my favorite.)

There are a few I could think of that almost no one would know of outside of this forum, but that kind of defeats the purpose. So instead, albums I love but doubt pretty much anyone here has ever listened to.

David Gray- Life in Slow Motion
David Gray- A Century Ends
David Gray- White Ladder
SOJA- Strength to Survive
The National- The Boxer
Ludovico Einaudi- Divenire
Damien Rice- O

A rather generic-seeming name for a Black metal album, but it kicks some major ass.
