Wait For Sleep Appreciation Thread
« on: December 02, 2012, 09:40:14 AM »
Oh man, what a beautiful song. I love how it fades to LTL and i also love how James sings. What do you guys think? I prefer this over Pull Me Under and Another Day.

It's a beautiful song that stays at the bottom of my Images rankings just because the album is called Images And Words. Still,  the song has great lyrics, great piano and great delivery by James both in the studio and on the stage.

I'm fierily looking forward the Buenos Aires DVD to see how did the song fare with a string quartet playing alongside the band.  :tup

Such a beautiful song, can't wait to see it on the upcoming DVD (I'm assuming it's gonna be included).

The best ballad on I&W and one of the best DT ballads overall - it's simply beautiful.

I rank this and learning to live as one because they compliment each other well, they did this with Vacant and Stream and recently with Far From Heaven and Breaking All Illusions.

Damn fine song.  Not the best of the best on the album, but not the worst either.

The only reason why I put that in there is that it would be way too hard to rank that album since all of the songs are so good. :lol

It's very curious how this thread was created the same day or so that the general IaW appreciation thread kicked off, and still the general rankings of the album ended up being posted here.

Something beautiful, and pretty sad. Reminds me of how you feel when you are burning in pain and nobody notices/cares at all. Someone stops by, turns for a glimpse, has a moment of hesitation... and then simply walks away.

I felt like I could really see the burning I&W heart after watching this. Just wanted to share.

One of the best ballads. Kinda gets overshadowed by the rest of the album, but it's still very good. It compliments Learning To Live very well.

Frankly, I think it's got better piano work than Space-Dye Vest. And definitely better lyrics.

I'm a real sucker for WFS.

I have an extremely soft spot for ballads and find all of them to be truly simple, beautiful, and heart warming. Kev does really awesome with this piece and it feels like I am being sucked into a dream. The lyrics gives me chills and Labrie at the end does it for me.

Really nice piece.  :heart

One of the best ballads they've done (which isn't saying much, they didn't have another good ballad until ADToE).

The lyrics are also gorgeous. It fits in so well with the album and I love how it ties everything together... images and words, sleep, dream (theater) and of course how they reference it again in Learning to Live.

Oh, by far.  I don't think that is even debatable.

Great, great song.  Highly underrated.

I shall debate it! Well, not really since I don't like debating, but I will state my opinion that I like SDV a lot better. Wait for Sleep is still a great beautiful song though. I guess I'm just one of the few people that really really loves SDV.
