I knew King was the problem!  And Echolyn is a band I've been meaning to check out.

You love me and the newest self titled Echolyn album is unreal.

TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

They are more in the vein of 70's prog.  Now very heavy.  Let me link you a song.

I've been thinking about getting Echolyn's new s/t album.  I'm not a huge fan of most of their catalog, but I do love the album "Mei" quite a bit.  Based on that sample posted above I may have to go ahead and get this one.

That's not bad King. I'm at work and I could only listen to the first minute on my phone, but it sounds promising.

To be fair there are some mellow songs on the album.  All of the songs are on youtube so check them out.

OK, got these almost all typed, then jumped on a Skype call, closed the browser to help the Skype connection, and deleted them all. So, this is gonna be a bit shorter than planned...

Great songs all around, I had to judge on lyrics and how well all the elements came together....

TAC- Endbound- Descending
Good rocking tune, lyrics were all right, but a bit simplistic and sophomoric. Song finished really nice.
Score- 7

Kirksnosehair- Hourglass- Oblivious to Oblivion pt.4-In My Hands
Way to utilize the inside knowledge bud. Even the title has echoes of that feeling of incomprehensible demoralization. The overall tone of the lyrics slipped right into where I'm at in life, as you well knew they would. You sneaky fucker. Decent song, not incredible, but good.
Score- 9

Cozmo- Smithereens- Blue Period
Very beautiful little tune, kinda hit on that hidden little country vibe I have in me. Lyrics were pleasant and had a nice, simple imagery.
Score- 7

Obscure- Virgos Merlot- Desregarding
First off, that bass, damn. Dark fucking song, this is a perfect example of lyrics, vocals, and music all coming together perfectly to convey a feeling. Listening to it took me back to a place I really don't want to go, that is what good music does, it affects you.
Score- 9

Ravenheart- Nightingale- The Glory Days
Upon the first listen, I wanted to dig deeper into the lyrics, very open and widely applicable. I always liked lyrics like that. Song was good, singer brought it down for me a bit for some reason.
Score- 8

Jingle.Boy- Neonfly- Broken Wings
Nice fucking tune, enjoyed it thoroughly. Lyrics were ok, a bit simple and a little too rah-rah for me.
Score- 8

Lowdz- Kip Winger- Naked Son
Oh he got all of that one!!!! It's deep, deep, tell it goodbye!!!!   Seriously, nailed it. Great song, great, cryptic and mysterious lyrics, intensely spiritual, all the elements came together perfectly for me. The tension build up and outburst was handled wonderfully. Pat yourself on the back, you earned the first perfect score of the roulette.
Score- 10

King- Our Lady of Peace- One Man Army
Nice, catchy little tune, like the funky vibe. Lyrics are good, the elements come together fairly well. A solid submission.
Score- 8

Kirksnosehair- 18
Lowdz- 16
TAC-15
Obscure- 15
Cozmo- 13
Ravenheart- 13
Jingle- 12
King- 11

Gonna go smoke/shit/shower/shave, and I will post round three deadlines and info and such. Great job guys!!!!

Edit:Screwed up some of the song titles, fix'd

Shocked me even more dude, I had my prejudices set when I saw the artist name. Great song though.

Ok folks, I will set a loose deadline of Tuesday, noon, PST, for round three. Still the same theme, 4:01 to 5:00. open otherwise. Good luck.

Dammit Paul!  That's another one you've eliminated off my 'potential' list - I did consider Down Incognito, and had Blind Revolution Mad on a short list for the future.  So much for that.  Stop thieving my thoughts!

It's just the appliance of science!  ;D

But I have to say I wasn't expecting that  :omg:.

It's from a great album. There were several songs I wanted to use, 3 had the time limit sorted. In the end those mysterious lyrics won it but there is great stuff waiting in that album for those who can forget that it's Kip Winger. I did think about something from Pull but there's just something about that album.

It's just a trend I noticed. I can see some things about his voice that put people off. But he is overall too awesome for me to be bothered by any of them.

Ravenheart won seven or 8 roulettes on Dan Swano songs alone. The horse is long dead, caned, flogged, shot ground up in to fertilizer and shant be resold.
