Honest to god I've never really gotten bad gifts, and appreciate anything, especially now when I have to get almost everything these days myself

Worst gift?

Too many to remember. My immediate and most of extended family were pretty poor during my childhood so the gifts often were a visual representation of how financially over-extended all the aunts and uncles were by having to cover all their bases. I appreciate their efforts but I think me and all my cousins would've been more than happy with having all of our aunts/uncles give us nothing so our respective parents could all just spend half of the cash that went toward gifts for nieces/nephews on their own kids and then just take the other half and use it toward bills/food/etc.

I'm the worst person to shop for because I usually just buy whatever I want since I have no one else to support.  People usually insist on getting me something and I basically have to tell them what to get on amazon because they don't know what I like and don't have already.  I've been trying to convince people to not by me anything and I not buy them anything but they can't be pragmatic about these kinds of things.

Actually, my dad had the most kickass gift for me...we were going to go to the Red Wings/Hurricanes game the day after Christmas, but the NHL is locked out    FUCK.

I'll probably just ask if we can go out to eat in a few exotic places since the town I'm in doesn't even have an Italian restaurant (yet we have 3 shitty Chinese ones, one decent Chinese, and 4 Mexican).
