"This is COVID-19, not COVID-1, folks,” Kellyanne Conway says, criticizing WHO for not being “transparent.”

 ::)

What the fuck does that even mean.  Is she trying to propagate that there were 18 other COVID's before this?

I'm gonna be honest, I honestly thought that too for a good while. I was an idiot and didn't realize until recently that the 19 stood for 2019. We were told that this was not the first Coronavirus. So I just assumed this was version 19.

Fair enough.  I must've read some articles early on that explained precisely why it was called COVID-19, so I thought it was fairly common knowledge.
Looking at my most recent posts, it almost seems like I'm trying to become the Common Sense of DTF :lol

Not really sure where to put this... but I was watching the 2007 reissue of Led Zeppelin's The Song Remains The Same, and lo and behold, Trump must be a Zep fan!

There's a bonus clip of a press conference back in '73 with Peter Grant and the manager of the Drake Hotel, in the aftermath of the theft of $202,600, over $1M in 2019 dollars (allegedly, there is some dispute as to how much cash was actually there).  At one point, a reporter asks whether the whole thing is a publicity stunt, and Grant gets agitated, and finally asks "can I ask you what paper you're from?".  The guy answers, and Grant goes "New York Post" and lowers his head with obvious derision.  (This all happens starting about 4:30 of the clip).

This is what she said

Quote
"Some of the scientists and doctors say that there could be other strains later on, that this could come back in the fall in a limited way. This is COVID-19, not COVID-1, folks," Conway said. “You would think that people charged with the World Health Organization facts and figures would be on top of that.”

Bobby Rush sent her a tweet and she replied to him

Quote
Dear @RepBobbyRush: I know 19 refers to year. I’m in Task Force daily (Congress is out until May 4). Point: WHO has received billion$ from USA for decades; it should see pandemics coming & be honest

Which felt better:insulting me or endorsing Bloomberg for President?

Dear @KellyannePolls, you seem to be confused, so let me break it down for you.

19: 2019, the year the virus was discovered (no, there haven’t been 19 coronavirus.

The COVID-19 refers to the disease caused by the virus rather than than the virus itself (like AIDS does in the context of the HIV virus), the viral strain is instead designated as SARS-COV-2, as in the second SARS-causing coronavirus strain. The nomenclature is a bit non-trivial so it would be forgivable for a layperson to make the mistake.

A senior council to the president however? Less forgivable.

If anyone wants full proof that Trump is a bad president, here's a quote from Ted Nugent.

"Donald Trump is as close to Ted Nugent as you'll ever get in politics"

That should seal the deal.

Serious question... what is that red box? Is it like a booster seat for the Bible?

I'm sticking this in the humor thread because I don't know where else to put it.  Trump visited Ford today and refused to wear a mask (no surprise there).  But I'm wondering at the way he is standing.  WTF is up with that?  I know it isn't the angle of the photo because I've noticed it before.  He tilts slightly forward and then his arms hang limp-like in front of him.

Is he wearing a bullet proof vest?

Is he wearing lifts?

Is it the bone spurs?

It just looks unnatural to me and I can't figure it out.
