overnight in Munich help
« on: November 05, 2012, 12:27:01 AM »
to my trusty international scholars:
I am overnighting in Munich tonight and staying at a hotel about 45m by train from airport.  I have a rental car booked, but I am wondering how likely parking is and also whether an American idiot like me would be able to follow signs.
any help would be appreciated
thanks

The major signs (stop, yield etc.) look exactly the same. Pro tip: "Ausfahrt" isn't the name of a city, it means "Exit" :)
Other than that, Germans take their street rules seriously. So, 50km/h means 50km/h. And overtaking on the right on an Autobahn is illegal unless it's stop-and-go. And indicating isn't optional either.

ended up just riding the train since our hostel is right across from the main train station.

just had some pizza and now I am crashing since I gotta be up at 5a to catch the flight out
