I won't vote yet. Maiden are awesome, and they have several amazing albums in the 80's. I don't know Floyd that well. I'm really into Wish You Were Here, and started listening to Animals and The Wall (though those haven't left much of an impression yet) so I need to hear some more Pink Floyd first, get into them better.

Definitely tougher than the other one for me. 

But Maiden gets my vote.  This is mostly just my metalhead tendencies shining through.

the Maiden albums are so consistently good to great, but those last four PF albums are tremendous (Meddle is ok, but I could never get into AHM and OBC)

Damn, this is just unfair for me.

I would generally say that DSotM-WYWH-A-TW alone beats out any other band in any other decade. Easily my favorite 4 album stretch by anyone.

But the first 7 Maiden albums… my lord!

One of these bands released Wish You Were Here.  The other did not.  One of these bands released a string of five perfect albums.  The other has made one perfect album in that same stretch of time.  One constantly experimented, creating instant classics that shaped popular music history.  The other galloped.  A lot.

I haven't heard Atom Heart Mother and Obscured by Clouds, but I vote for PF. I tried getting into Maiden a couple of years ago and they have some good songs, but overall their stuff is too samey and repetitive for my taste. The 4-album streak of DSOTM-The Wall also beats anything I've heard by IM.

Maiden wins. I honestly couldn't find a better, more logical way to decide because I absolutely love all of these albums. And I mean all of these. Well, I like Killers and Meddle is fine, but the rest I do love.

Good idea. Just tried this out and I don't feel like typing it here again and Maiden still wins. They still have two 10/10 albums and that gives them quite the edge.

Maiden, by a hair. I'm not much of a fan of OBC and The Wall is rather overrated (though still very good) - also, SSOASS is my #3 album of all time. Still, both bands are awesome, and while I've been a Maiden fan for a while, my PF love is increasing with the day, so it might look different sometime in the future.

But for now, Maiden.
