Ben Swann (a real reporter)
« on: October 25, 2012, 11:59:44 PM »
Ben Swann is probably the best reporter to come out of Fox (WXIX Fox 19 in Cincinnati, to be precise). His views seem to be libertarian-leaning but he's not the LIBERTY AND FREEDOM IN YOUR FACE type like Judge Napolitano. His segment called Reality Check was pretty much the only thing on television covering the Republican party's abuse of its own delegates. Check out this video where he actually calls out Fox News for its hypocrisy:

I think the only reason he hasn't been fired yet is that he's quite the sensation on the internet. Hopefully he does much more damage to the system before they finally do away with him.

Local Fox channel affiliates are something completely different than Fox News. Local affiliates are usually more locally owned, and are in a contractual agreement to air programming, etc. Local Fox channel news programs are completely unrelated to the Fox News Network, and that reporter's boss isn't someone who technically answers to Rupert Murdoch or anyone at News Corp (contractual agreements not with-standing).

So that's why he hasn't been fired.
