I use Youtube but grooveshark is alright as well. And so far the participants are:

Lonestar
Dr. DTVT
Nekov
Elite

By the way the round will end a day after i have 10 participants.

Add rattlehead, Big Hath, missedthepoint, onno and theliloutkast! It would seem you have room for one more?  Song coming shortly.

Yes, another fogey, I was starting to feel like methuselah.

Technically, Doc is a card carrying member of the fogey club.

Now you'll just be Abel and Cain  ;D

Easy there twentysomething.  Not totally sure, but I think you're still on the older side of the tracks in this group.

Assuming I made it, we're looking at 5 roulette noobs vs 5 seasoned pro's.

Well I'll go ahead and assume the lowest is the person who missed the theme.

I don't think I'm the 9.7, but the lowest I'll be is 8.5. So, I'll go ahead and guess 9. I hope so, anyways.

THE RESULTS!!!!!!

NUMBER 10

Theliloutkast:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6doJ0ErfSHg

Powerglove-Power,Widom,Courage

I really like Zelda so this was sweet Really liked the part after 1:57. Only problem is… I don't like powerglove :( They are too in your face. Too tiring to listen to. To the point of wankery… (Coming from a person that likes The Dance Of Eternity)

5.5/10

NUMBER 9

FLAME WALL

DR. DTVT:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwNkB-aoOQU

Rhapsody - Dawn Of Victory

It's ok. But too tiring to listen to for me. Too much shit going on. At least it's good shit. Uhhhh… I really dont know how to rate this. It was ok.

6/10

Sorry to the next guy...

NUMBER 8

Elite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq0yB7yXi1Q

Shadow Gallery-Chased

This was the fourth song i got and so far i was enjoying everything. And this song was no exception. Reminds me a lil of Symphony X. And it's… ok. Nothing too special imo. Flame wall up. I still like the keyboards though.

6.5/10

NUMBER 7

Lonestar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ccp36YIWhhI

Invertals-Inertia

Comment:Amazing. Want to hear more. In fact i'm gonna listen to the album right now! Really cool.Really love the keyboard effects. And the way the song ends is pretty cool for an album closer.
But it didnt grow on me too much.

7.5/10

NUMBER 6

Onno: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ld92el1Nsoo&

Branford Marsalis Quartet-Jabberwocky

Yay the first jazz entry! And it is really good. Love the Alto Sax. I really enjoyed this since it was a breath of fresh air from all the prog metal entries i got. (And i loved the previous entries don't get me wrong.) Well this is quite good. Nothing else.

8/10

NUMBER 5

missedthepoint : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SkluNOE-lM

Dave Weckl Band-101 Shuffle
Groovy! Jeez this will be tough to choose! Well i like how it's so groovy and fun. Didnt really enjoy this as much as couple other entries though... Jazz takes a while to grow on me

8.5/10

NUMBER 3 (tie)

Rattlehead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVAROPg-b4A

Red Sparowes-A Spawn

Kinda reminded me of Isis. A band that i recently started listening to. And all i can say is that this is awesome. Very relaxing and beautiful. Much more different than the other entries so far. I love how it explodes on your face. Love it. Wow this is a hard roulette. I loved this so much. Tie with Big Hath? Ughhhhh… I suppose. I'll listen to both these songs all day to decide…

9/10

AND

Big Hath: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvJH0x1CTho

Tower Of Power-Squib Cakes

And then another jazz entry! I personally like this kind of jazz more. Jazz fusion,if you will. It was very enjoyable. The organ was amazing and the drumming was great. And you know what? I like this the most so far!

9/10

Btw i just got that Tower Of Power album on vinyl today. Loving it. Thanks!

NUMBER 2

jingle.boy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQWDgR5toao

Beyond The Bridge-Triumph of Irreality

Wow. Another amazing track. This was the second song that made me listen to the whole album. (the other one i wont say just yet) And this was the best out of every song on the album imho. Epic part after 5:00 btw ;)

9.5/10

AND THAT LEAVES US WITH NUMBER 1

Yup. It's you.

Nekov: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FV2HPnBfwWo

One Cup,One Lighter,One Jack-Freekeys

Pretty good. Reminds me a lot of LTE or any other great Jazz Fusion band. This is amazing. Btw it sounds like a soundtrack to a 90s shmup game/ Megaman X. I like it.

9.7/10

Thanks a lot for participating! I'm gonna think of a theme and in like 2 hours, i'm gonna announce the next theme! The problem is this is the first time that i'm doing a roulette so do i get new participants or do i continue with you guys? Btw congrats Nekov!

. I'm not gonna get overly excited as I usually start good but then fall apart. I'm glad you liked the song

And you should keep the same people, that's the way most people do. Unless you wanna go the way DTVT did by eliminating people each round. Or you can try the way obscure did but I don't think even those of us who were in that roulette understood what was going on  :P

In my best Macho Man impersonation.

Ohhhhh Yyyyeeeaaaaah!!!!  CAN YOU DIG IT?!?!?

Who's got a 9 now?  :footloose:

Oh, and lolz... you continue with this group for whatever number of rounds (most people do between 6 and 9), then crown an overall winner at the end.

P.S. inb4 Nekov sends the best song again.

Or you can try the way obscure did but I don't think even those of us who were in that roulette understood what was going on  :P

Amen.

By 'death metal' is any metal with growls acceptable?

Like Nekov, I'm not sure I have anything that is officially classified as "death" metal.  Going uber-heavy with growls is as close as I/you are going to get.

So, it also turns out that I don't have anything that has growl throughout the whole song. Is it OK if it's a mix of growls with cleaner vocals?

Shit, I don't even know any death metal.

I'm sure you could ask your 'boss' for some advice!   :lol

Thankfully, I squirelled a couple of songs away from my Roulette that (I think) fall into this category.  If not... oh well.  Sending momentarily.

So, it also turns out that I don't have anything that has growl throughout the whole song. Is it OK if it's a mix of growls with cleaner vocals?

Even if the answer is no, tough shit.  That's all I got.  My submission is about 75% growlie, 25% clean.
