I gave up at the Zelda boss. It was ok up until there, although some of the controls were a bit clunky compared to the originals, and it just makes me just want to play the originals, which I have anyway. :lol

It was fun seeing the references though.

I think I meant 2 hours, but I was buzzed and really tired.

The Contra stage is my favorite.  And you really should play the whole game, there's a lot of stuff towards the end you will miss if you don't.
