Led Zeppelin "Celebration Day" Film
« on: October 18, 2012, 12:43:06 AM »
Went to see this film at Leeds Showcase Cinema (UK) last night.

It's released on DVD on 19 Nov but decided it would be great fun to see it on the big screen, and I was not wrong !

One word - INCREDIBLE

Full gig from their 2007 performance at the O2 Arena in London - 18,000 tickets available and 20 million (yes, 20 million !) people applied for them.

Frankly, it just doesn't get better than this.

Great set list :-

Good Times Bad Times
Ramble On
Black Dog
In My Time Of Dying
For Your Life
Trampled Under Foot
Nobody’s Fault But Mine
No Quarter
Since I’ve Been Loving You
Dazed And Confused
Stairway To Heaven
The Song Remains The Same
Misty Mountain Hop
Kashmir
Whole Lotta Love
Rock And Roll

Could have quite easily sat through it again straight after.

I've got a bootleg of the show, which sounds great.  Nov 19 is my b-day... methinks I know what I'll be getting this year.  Undecided about blu-ray or not though.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

How'd they fix Dazed and Confused? That was one massive gaffe, and I don't see Page leaving it there warts and all.  :rollin

what was the gaffe about it?

The most glaring one was at the end of the solo section, Page went back to the transition to the main riff WAY ahead of everyone else, leaving poor Jason Bonham hammering away at the fill that led into the section Page was already playing. It's like all three of the musicians were playing a different song at once. If you ever heard the boot, you couldn't miss it.
